i was wondering the same.  this is what i've been told so far though...

most vendors, tip them 15-20%...although at the same time, it should not exceed $100.  i'd only give 20% if they were exceptional though but i think 15% is minimum.

for example: you can split the 15% between as many photogs as you hire.  You can give the head photog more and distribute evenly amongst the photog assistants.

the ones that do NOT require tipping are those who are freelance.  because the price that they quote you basically all goes back to them.  whereas if there is somebody that works for a company, they only get a portion of what you pay the vendor.  therefore, it is appropriate to tip them.

catering hall...some include gratuity in their cost (per head), but others don't.  it is best to find this out so you don't under or overpay.

i guess the main ppl you'd tip:  caterers and catering staff (if need be), musicians (if you hire professionals...but they usually expect 20%), make-up artists & hair stylists, limo driver, etc.

Because all my vendors I"m using own their own business I'm not tipping except for my hair and makeup person 20%. My reception already charges a 18% "Service Charge" on top of the final bill with sales tax so that in my opinion takes care of the tipping.
