First of all, read your contracts to make sure the tip isn’t already built into the price.  No need to tip twice!  Secondly, you never have to tip someone who is self-employed because they are keeping 100% of the money you’re giving them anyway.  Here’s my opinion about all the vendors you mentioned (assuming none of them are self-employed)…

Rental company – no tip required

Hair/makeup – 15% same as any hair salon

Minister – tips discouraged, donations to church are better

Alterations – $20

Photographer – $30

I was thinking about doing something similar.

Make Up Artist and Hair – 15%

Limo  – Built into contract price

Caterer and servers – Built into contract price

Bartenders provided by the venue – probably something really small

DJ – Something small like $50

Pastor – Donation to church

Photographer and other shooters – not sure
