Tipping a Wedding Planner?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to know if anyone else is tipping their wedding planners? I've had mine for about 6 months (she's helping with quite a bit, but we're also paying her a hefty amount, too). We're tipping all the other day-of people (servers, officiant, our location liason) but weren't sure if we should tip the planner? She'll have an assistant with her the day of, too.

If so, how much?

We tipped 10% of the fee. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure if there is a wedding rule, but our DOC did so much for us, that we wanted to tip her just to thank her for her efforts. I think if she goes above and beyond, it's a nice way of saying thank you.

It's definitely not standard, but we tipped 50% because she was so awesome!
