Hair stylist: $25-30
Buffet Restaurant: If there's a tip place to sign on the receipt, I'll do 15%
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy): 20%
When you pick up take out?!?!: 10-15%
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel: n/a (My parents always take care of it).
Tour guide: I don't do tour guides. :p
Bar tender: Minimum $2/per drink (but at least 15-20%)
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels: $2
Valet: $2
Regular restaurants: 20% or over
Nails: 15-20%
Brows: $5
Car wash dudes: $10
That's all I can think of right now. :p
Hair stylist - 15%
Buffet Restaurant - I don't go to buffet restaurants...
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy) - 10 - 15%
When you pick up take out?!?! 10%
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel - Depending on how long I stay there. For a long trip, maybe a couple of dollars everyday and like $10 on the last day
Tour guide - Never had a tour guide
Bar tender - a big tip in the beginning so he remembers me (I get really quick service after that) and then a couple of dollars each time
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels - one or two bucks.
Hair stylist: 15%
Buffet Restaurant: I don't tip at these usually, but 10-15% if someone is good.
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy): 10-15%
When you pick up take out: NO
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel: I'm a poor student, lets just say I don't go anywhere
Tour guide: again I'm poor so I'm not going on guided tours anywhere
Bar tender: I don't drink or go to bars, but I would if I did.
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels: Again poor person, so I typically don't go to places that do this
I don't tip anywhere else, but thats because I'm poor and don't use any other services that you might tip...
I would say you should tip if someone cleans your home, washes your laundry, dry cleaner, ect.
Hair stylist - Around 25% - my haircuts are about $40 and I usually tip $10
Buffet Restaurant - I hardly ever eat at buffet restaurants but if I did, I would probably tip 15% for the bus boys who probably don't make a lot
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy) - 20%
When you pick up take out?!?! - It depends... at the restaurant I work at, the take out is handled by the hostess who makes a decent wage. But if its clearly given to me by someone who makes server's wage ($3-4 an hour) I will tip 15%.
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel - I've never tipped a hotel maid, is that horrible? We tipped 20% on our cruise because they don't get paid well and gratuities are expected.
Tour guide - Never used a tour guide, but I would imagine $5-10.
Bar tender - 100% the first time ($5 on a $5 drink) to insure good service and a couple bucks throughout the night after that
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels - I am ashamed to admit, but will be honest, that I hardly ever tip these people, because I'd much rather keep my cash for the bar and get my own paper towels! Though one woman fixed my dress once and I gave her $2.
Hairstylist: 25%
Buffet Restaurant: I don't like buffets...
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy) 15-20%
When you pick up take out? 10%
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel? A couple $$ a day
Tour guide: honestly... not much because I find tour guides cheesey. lol I usually go on self guided tours anyways.
Bartender: I give a big tip first round to ensure I'll get drinks later on (especially if its a woman)-- and then about $2 a drink afterwards.
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels: I only tip them if I use something of theirs like hairspray... then I'll tip them a couple bucks!
Stylist: 15-20% depending on what they're doing and/or if I'm a regular customer. My highlight girl I tip $15 and it's only about $45 cuz it's a hair school...but I can't only tip her $10 and feel good about it. She never fails to be a perfectionist with my hair and sometimes she doesn't charge me for the extra bowl of hair dye. I don't tip based on price regarding highlights, but on the level of Awesome. I don't want her racking me up on charges to get a better tip so I just tip well to begin with.
Buffet restaurant: We don't eat buffet but it kinda depends. Do we have one plate and go? Do they come back multiple times? We just don't eat at these places.
Food delivery: Oh man i haven't had a pizza delivery in forever! I'd give the driver a $5 probably, but if we ordered a LOT, then probably a $10
Pick up take out: $1 or $2--I used to be a "To Go" person and they actually rely on tips, too...BUT, I do this for business trips so I can tip. If i'm going to pick up food to go myself, I just go home OR get subway. If i'm gonna spend $10 on a cheeseburger, I'm going to eat it right then and there.
Maid: Actually I don't usually tip....if I'm staying somewhere nice and she does a good job, i'll give her a $5 at the end of the trip but I want to make sure I get the same lady all week though.
Tour guide: ummm...never had a tour?
Bartender: $1-$2 per drink, sometimes more, like a $5 if i plan on drinking a lot. Oh and a big smile and thank you goes a LONG way with the dudes =]. Usually gets me what I want and it's always made right.
Bathroom people: if i use something, couple of bucks. I usually don't. I'm all about my personal Anti-bac stuff.
I'm a good tipper, but I don't just tip for nothing. Service is service.
Hair stylist: Maybe 20-25% or more. He's genius. He works miracles.
Buffet Restaurant: 10-15%
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy): Usually like $3-5
When you pick up take out?!?!: Yeah I tip a few bucks. The lady's a b*tch at our favorite local chinese place but you tip her then she's happy as a clam.
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel: 15-20% (depends on the service tho)
Tour guide: Dunno never really had one.
Bar tender: I normally keep the tab open but I'd say $1-2 per drink (more if the guy's hot) or about 15% at the end.
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels: No clue, never seen one of these people.
Nail salon: 15%
Car wash dudes: Few bucks (all they do is wash your wheels before you drive through)
I guess I didn't realize people tipped soo many people. Why would you tip when you go pick up a carryout order? Isn't this the same as going through a drive through. Do you tip at mcdonalds too? I guess i'm from a pretty country area so we're not use to all the high class stuff that needs tipped. Do all of these jobs depend on tips?

All of these posts about tipping got me thinking about tipping at places other than restaurants. It seems that most people know that you should tip 15-20% in restaurants but I've never learned specific rules for tipping elsewhere.
What do you tip at these places (and can you think of any others?):
Hair stylist
Buffet Restaurant
Food delivered to your house (ie. pizza guy)
When you pick up take out?!?!
Tip for the maid when you stay in a hotel
Tour guide
Bar tender
The people in the bathrooms of some clubs that hand you paper towels
