If the MUA works for a company, I would tip. Just the same as you tip your stylist for a haircut, etc.
And yes, if it is the owner of the company, then you don't need to tip. It IS nice, but I assume they are receiving 100% of the price anyways.
I'm not tipping at trial, as I will include the tip in the overall payment. (IF I will tip)

Hi ladies,
I've never had my makeup professionally done before, so I wanted to ask if it is proper etiquette/expected to tip a makeup artist: 1) at a makeup trial and 2) on the day of the wedding. I'm also wondering if it makes a difference if she is the owner of her business. (I've been told in the past that, for other services, you don't tip an owner.)
