Our budget is pretty tight and the majority of it was spent on our band. Our band has 9 members and I’m just now realizing we should tip them…but not only did we not budget for that (oops!) we certainly didn’t budget for 9 people! Any ideas on tipping etiquette and if we need to tip any/all members? I believe I saw other posts on here about who to tip and what, but advice on the 9 member band would be much appreciated!

I don’t actually think you have to tip them, assuming you hired your band directly and are paying their fee directly to them. Check your contract – it may state that gratuity is included. But if it explicitly states that gratuity is not included, then they are expecting a tip in addition to their fee. I’ve seen suggestions ranging from $20 to $50 per band member. Also, if they’ll be playing for several hours during your reception, you should feed them. See if your venue offers a vendor meal that’s less expensive than what you’re feeding your guests.
