I don't have any tips about changing it with the DMV but for mine, I only had to bring my old license and the marriage license. You should be able to change all your other bills once you have the new ID. Most of my credit cards had a phone number to call for a name change.

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I have decided to change my last name to his name.
Yesterday I received our marriage license back from the State of Texas. So I set out this morning to change my name.
I went to the Social Security Office first. I stood in line for two hours! For no reason of course! You can send in the application via the mail. Go on to the SSN website and print off the form to change your name on your card. You will have to mail them your marriage license and form of ID which it will list what type of ID is accepted. They will mail you back all of your documents when the process is complete.
So my advice to you is go ahead and request more then one copy of your marriage license so that you can mail one into the SSN office and have one at home to do other transactions.
Tomorrow I'm off to hopefully change my driver's ID.
Anyone have tips for me? State of Texas Driver's License. Credit Cards, Utility Bills anything else?
