Are you staying for an entire weekend, one night, etc.?

The Canary Hotel is very nice (on Carillo St, very close to State St.) and is located downtown. You might also want to check out some hotels in Montecito. You’d be surprised, there are some good deals sometimes.

Opal Restaurant on State St. near the Arlington Theater is WONDERFUL! Cute location, good food, reasonably priced and service is always incredible. Hungry Cat and Milk & Honey are very good for cocktails and tapas.

There are a lot of good wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley and you may be able to find van/limo to take you and your friends to and from the wineries. If you are in Los Olivos, Los Olives Cafe is good place for dinner.

If you just to roam up and down State St. you’ll find lots of different bars. Some are more casual than others and some are trying, really, really hard to be like an L.A. kind of club.

I’m not sure how familiar you and your friends are with Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is a very nice place, but be warned that there is a lot of graffiti for such a small town, people who panhandle are all over State St,  certain areas have a little more gang activity than others and it is becoming very commercialized (lot of mom-n-pop places are going out of business).

But with that said, the weather is generally wonderful, you got the mountains and the beach and pretty historic buildings. I think you ladies will find lots of things to do for fun!
