Redken. Redken. Redken. Blow dry. Apply Redken product. Flat Iron. Apply tiiny bit of shine serum. Lightly spray. Go. I use several of their products and have had great success taming the wave
. I can't remember the exact name of the product I use before blow drying but I'll find it when I get home and post it....
P.S. I wish I would have done this at my wedding.... No matter what the weather, remember to touch up your hair and makeup throughout the day/night. By the end of the night, I look a frightful mess in my pics! Yowza!
What i lovvveee to use on my clients when i straighten their hair is paul mitchelles smoothing serum. I love that stuff! My aunt has wavy hair and is using a serum by biosilk and she said she likes that too. Next time you get your hair cut ask your stylist for some recommendations.
If you use redkin is probably Align and Glass.
I went to a new stylist last time and he gave me a new product...it seems to make my hair greasy though.
you guys are crazy for loving redkin lol. but i guess because i'm a stylist i get to play with a bunch of different products.
if a product is making your hair greasy you are using too much. with a lot of serums they will do that, because you are only supposed to use a TINY bit. if you aren't used to product it will make your hair feel like that too.
I find that Aussie Mega Hairspray (in aerosol, i know, it's bad) works really well in humidity. We all used it for my sister's wedding. :)
My FMIL (owns a salon) gave me some stuff that I've been using and it's the best thing EVER. I'm at work and can't remember the exact name. Will post again when I get home. I'm thinking it's some kind of keratin serum?
I have very curly hair and just use frizz ease serum to tame my hair and then flat iron w/ chi and a heat protection spray of course.
I guess I should try Redkin
davines defining gloss is amazing. It really helps to prevent frizz, and also will work to tame hair that is already frizzy. I also use aveda hair serum, but davines gloss is my favorite.
It looks like I was using Aveda smooth infusion...I guess I will try it again and use less.
Thanks for all the suggestions...I think I might get some redkin too! lol
You definitely need to make sure the product is an anti humectant. When my hair is damp I put it Aveda Hang Straight and then you absolutely must blow dry. Using a round brush creates more tension and will help straighten. Then of course flat iron and I recommend blowing your hair again with the cool setting.
Then hair spray and hope for the best!

We are getting married in Florida and I have nautrally wavy hair...I want to keep it straight. It normally behaves but if the humidity is too high it won't. My hair will be short for the wedding (no updo) so it needs to behave!
