If I was able to kill all the weeds in my yard, I wouldn’t have any green yard left.
The people I bought my house from did not take care of their yard. I just had the landscape done. And I’ve been trying to work on the grass.
I put Scotts Turf Builder and Weed control down in the spring. That night an unexpected rain storm came through and washed most of it away. While it got rid of the dandelions, I still have a ridiculous amount of weeds.
I can put the next application down in the fall.
What do you do to stop weeds from growing and get better grass?

One year we tore up the entire lawn and re-planted.
But I also once lived in a place where there was so little sunlight that only weeds would grow, so everyone just had weed-lawns. (It was also in a trailer park. Man that shit was classy)

We pay someone to come weed and feed ours. Although we do have a nasty patch of crab grass in the terrace that needs to be addressed.

@ajillity81: I know how you feel! We bought our first home a year ago and the previous owner didn’t take care of the yard at all (granted he was living alone and in his 90s, so it’s understandable). It was covered in moss and weeds. So we had everything taken up, soil brought in and planted the grass seed. For the most part it looks good, but there are areas where there is so much crabgrass, if we killed it all we wouldn’t have any grass in that area. It’s frustrating especially since we started from scratch but I’m definitely going to try getting rid of it.

i go out there and pull them out myself! its a great work out and its the most effient and earth friendly way to get rid of weeds. You just have to make sure you get all of the root.
