So, I am currently 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant. This morning I went to the bathroom and pooped and peed like normal, no pain, no struggle.
However, when wiped I noticed there was bright red blood coming out of my rectum. First thing I did was make sure it was coming out of the back and not the front. I wiped my but 5 more times and each tims there was a good amount of bright red blood on the toilet paper. The sixth and seventh time the blood amount got less and less but it is still there. Took a shower, checked again and nothing. I am feeling a little bit of pressure in my right abdominal area.
I am waiting for my Dr’s office to open so that I can call and see what they want me to. But has anyone else experienced this? Any advice?

Don’t worry, it’s normal 🙂 It’s from hemorrhoids, and even if you don’t struggle to pass it, sometimes the stool can rub on the hemorrhoids as it comes out and cause them to bleed. But since it got less and less the more you wiped, it’s nothing you should be concerned with! I had it happen a couple of times when I was pregnant, checked with my midwife and she assured me it happens to most pregnant women at least once during pregnancy and is not harmful to you or baby.

If it’s just from yuor anus, it’s definitely hemorrhoids. Definitely add more vegetables into your diet for now. Hemorrhoid cream may help if you’re experiencing discomfort.

Yeah, hemorrhoids. If it doesn’t hurt I wouldn’t be too concerned about it yet BUT you should talk to the doctor and they will give you stool softeners that help. I had these since I was a young teen but pregnancy and child birth made them much much worse.

I’ve always been told that if it’s bright red it’s nothing to worry about. If it’s darker it can be internal but if it looks fresh you should be fine 🙂

Oh yeah this happens to me a lot. It’s nothing to worry about, just a hemorrhoid or small tear. It never hurts, just bleeds sometimes when I go #2. It’s scary because it’s bright read fresh blood but it usually stops quickly.

i agree with pps. you can normally get a cream from the pharmacy but we careful, any with numbing agents (if you’re getting sore down there) are often not suitable in first trimester
i think its unlikely your doctor will want ot see you, most likely theyll tell you what cream you can safely buy

Happened to me in Tri 1 too, only mine was a yeast infection that had grown into my skin (ew gross!). I would just have a chat with the pharmacist and get some cream!

It’s happened to me too. Totally normal and common.

It happened to me as well with no constipation or strain, I wouldn’t worry much especially if it stopped…
