TMI but need cures to constipation

Kiwi fruit. We get a frozen concentrate here in NZ which is just pulped kiwi fruit that you dilute and drink a cup of each day or more if it’s bad. Just get half a dozen kiwifruit if you can and juice it up. Good luck!

All I ever need to “go” is a milk shake with whipped cream…

But you can always pick up a laxative if you need to!

@ecrowe1218:  Miralax helps. It works differently than laxatives in that it doesn’t increase peristalsis (intestinal motility) to make BM’s “loose”… It kind of coats the GI tract and makes it sort of slippery to help things “out”.  Also exercise.

Fiber pills. They might take a few days to really work, but they eventually will give you relief.

My husband & I drink this tea on occasion called “Smooth Move” from the company Traditional Medicinals. I think it works better than even pill laxatives and it is all natural.

Coffee is also helpful for this sort of thing.

@ecrowe1218:  If you aren’t going number 2 at least once a day, technically you are constipated. If you haven’t gone in two weeks and you’ve tried laxative, I would call your doctor.

@ecrowe1218:  Fiber One bread (not cereal–the cereal, for me, made me gassy and it hurt rather than actually made me go) and prunes. If you don’t like the taste of prunes, they have orange essence flavored ones at some stores. This was the only thing that made me go early in pregnancy when I was constipated. I would also massage your stomach by pressing down to maybe get things moving.

If things get bad enough, you can always do a mild laxative like magneisum citrate or something.

Bran muffins and prune juice.

Daily salads, apples.

Or, once a week, 2 Dulcolax to get you regular again.

I have to do that once a month, at least.  I get constipated often from medication.

@ecrowe1218:  I’d suggest taking a good fiber supplement first (metamucil is a good one). I wouldn’t use laxatives (they aren’t recommended by my dr).  If the fiber doesn’t work then you may need to use an enema.

How quickly have you increased your fiber intake? Doing it too quickly can make you constipated from all the fiber. I would go talk to your doctor if you don’t get things moving soon, there might be something wrong.

Drink some coffee. Eat an apple. Eat some kale and/or broccoli.

You need to increase your fiber intake for healthy digestion and regularity!
