iliketurtles:  I have heard it can take a year for your system to regulate. Especially after years on the pill. I’d say it’s too early to worry, but definitely keep track of it so that when the time comes you have some data to talk talk to your doctor about. Mine took awhile to regulate too.

iliketurtles:  I would suggest you tell this to your OBGYN and let them know of this issue. There are women who are able to conceive and have irregular periods, my SIL is one of them. You just have to get to know your cycle and track ovulation.

But 2 periods in 6 months? That seems like there is something else going on. How heavy are your periods whne you do get them?

FYI – I was on the pill from 18-28 and I came off the pill in April of this year. My periods started to regulate a month later coming ever 32-33 days.

iliketurtles:  Are your cramps extremely painful or would you consider them to be normal? <br />There are so many different reasons why your period could be delayed, so your best best would be for your doctor to do a check up and see what it could possibly be.

Let her know of your plans to TTC in the near future and find out if there is anything you can start doing now to prepare yourself for it.

I was very irregular coming off the pill. It took me +3 months to get my first real period. I went to my dr and they did some basic tests but wouldn’t go into detail until it had been a year. Id suggest contacting your dr now so at least they have it on record. Your dr might do blood tests but they may not. When my blood work came back “normal”, they wouldn’t do anything else. I started seeing a naturopath and found out my thyroid was underactive. Not enough to show on my dr’s basic blood work but enough to make a difference to my life and my cycle. I was able to get things back on track through her.

You could start charting now, if you really want to know what’s going on. Or maybe try Vitex, if things haven’t evened out in another six months.

If you’re posting on the TTC boards, there’s no such thing as TMI.
