Oh my lord. I think the only person who can give you a definat answer is a doctor. Not that theres anything wrong with him but maybe it can effect it. Maybe its whats he’s eating or drinking? I think  adoc can help you out better than us.

@MrsZapatos:  Sounds like he is dehydrated?? In any case, only a doctor can give you actual information.  Good luck!

@MrsZapatos:  How often is he ejaculating?  It sounds like it could be almost a little bit clogged up.  If he’s going getting it out once a week, more frequency might help it be less concentrated.  But yes, I would ask a doctor like PP said.

@HannahGrace:  +1. I have definitely notice a difference when DH is not drinking enough water. OP, how much water does your DH drink a day?

I’ve noticed a difference in SO’s is much thicker when he eats alot of protein?? I have no clue if this relates to your case, as it sounds like it is always like this with your husband. The protein thing is just something I heard somewhere, I have no medical facts to back that up.

If you are concerned about being able to conceive together, I think you should have him get his semen tested. I don’t *think* the thickness/consistency is necessarily related to fertility, but you might feel better if you find out one way or the other? If you’re worried. Chances are everything is fine, though.

I heard that thicker parts in a mens ‘stuff’ is like food for the sperm… haha pretty gross but it’s all normal and just helps them survive longer????

DH’s is normal colour which then turns see-through after a few seconds but according to Embarrasing Bodies this is normal.

@MrsZapatos: I have no experience with thick semen, but I agree perhaps going to the doc to do a semen analysis is not such a bad idea. It’s always good to get the doc opinion and save on added stress to the already stressful TTC. Best wishes!

It’s probably fine, and my guess is that your body temperature helps keep it motile. Part of sex involves uterine movement that puts your cervix into optimal position to “dip” into semen, too, so it will facilitate direct contact itself (weird, I know). But, if you have difficulty conceiving, you can always get it check out at the doctor — this isn’t necessarily something that they’ll do unless you’ve been trying for a while first.

DH’s stuff is pretty thick too, not quite as thick as your description but close. I got KU the second month trying (and we totally missed my o the first month).  I wouldn’t be too worried until a few cycles go by with no luck!
