Absolutely Planned Parenthood should be able to help you out. I’d call to double check, but they’re equipped for pretty much anything regarding women’s health. You can talk to someone there, describe your symptoms, and they can give you a better idea of what they’ll be testing for and what the tests will involve.
Calm down. First of all, don’t wait until Friday, you need to get to a doctor ASAP. It sounds as though you have an infection that has spread, and the longer you wait to get on the proper medication the worse it will get. I am dead serious here – get to a doctor, any doctor, the EMERGENCY ROOM – not Planned Parenthood – RIGHT NOW. And tell Darling Husband, for God’s sake, he is your husband. This is serious, from the way you have described it. Please tell me you are on your way out the door RIGHT NOW. You need an antibiotic!!!!!
Definately get checked into a Planned Parent Hood if you don’t have insurance or a regular Obgyn.
Have you ever had a yeast infection or UTI?
Have you been getting regular periods?
How about unprotected sex? Any chance you may have an STD? Have you been tested recently?
I agree with PPs. Planned Parenthood can help for sure, and the sooner you can get in, the better. Also definitely tell your husband because it’s possible you could have either passed the infection to him or caught it from him in the first place.
That sounds like it could be vaginitis or a similar bacterial infection. You need to get yourself to a doctor and on a course of antibiotics immediately. It could spread into your reproductive organs and give you a whole host of other problems.
They will most likely give you a blood test and run a culture of the fluid and cells from your vagina. Not painful at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started you on antibiotics before the results come back. But please go. Are you running a fever?
@Sunfire: Agree with you…OP, DON”T wait until friday, and DEFINITELY tell your Darling Husband because if you have been having sex (or playing around) without protection at any point in the last 6 months, he is at risk also.
A friend of mine ended up hospitalized from a bladder infection she didn’t bother to follow up on thinking it was a yeast infection. 5 days of IV antibiotics and pain meds.
Another girlfriend had Chlamydia unbeknownst to her, docs figured she could have had had it for up 8 months prior! She was hospitalized also for 3 days, released, then back for 6 days for IV fluids, pain meds and antibiotics. Doctor said she may have permanent long term damage because of it.
So…please don’t wit. Your bodyis trying to tell you it needs help asap!
Go to planned parenthood now. Don’t wait until Friday. Hopefully it’s a UTI or yeast infection but it could be worse, and even if it is one of those, you don’t want those to get worse either.
I’m just going to wait until Friday, I’ve had most of this stuff for months so 2 more days should be fine. Thank you though.
I just didn’t want to call Planned Parenthood & pay them & then have them refer me to a doctor who I’d have to also pay. I called a few doctors earlier this week, but “we are not taking in new patients at this time” is driving me crazy! Plus I want a girl & planned parenthood will be a girl doctor!
I’ve never had a UTI or yeast infection that I know of at least. My birth control stopped my periods, so I’m not worried about being pregnant. Darling Husband & I have only slept with each other so it couldn’t be an STD
@nicoleb83: I’m a nurse.
First, its sounds as if you have some sort of vaginal/urinary infection. Potentially a kidney/bladder infection. Do you have pain in your lower back towards either side?
You could also be suffering from a condition that is compressing your bowel/bladder nerves (disc herniation), although, along with your other symptoms this doesn’t sound as likely.
The thing is, infections KILL people. I don’t want to scare you, but losing bladder function is ALWAYS a big deal. If I were you (and I’m a nurse) I would go to the ER immediately. If payment is in an issue, the hospital will usually work with you to lower costs and set-up a payment plan. You really don’t want to wait. Some infections spread incredibly quickly, even if some more benign symptoms have existed for a while. You really should get it checked out NOW….if it is something more serious, or if the infection gets into the blood that bill will be bigger than you could even guess so don’t let money hold you back from seeking the treatment you need!
I’m guessing you must be on some program that planned parenthood is covered (financially) that you would prefer to go there? If so, try get in the soonest you can, But I certainly wouldn’t just put off getting things checked out to wait around for an appointment if they don’t have one tomorrow. While I don’t think you need to rush to an emergency room, I would certainly go to urgent care now or if you must wait, tomorrow (Waiting til Thur is long enough, don’t wait til Fri – tell your Darling Husband, I’m sure he would agree with us all). While you may have had these symptoms for the past two months, it’s obviously getting worse and I wouldn’t put it off any longer.
ETA: just re-read and saw that you were incontinent a week ago, first time I read it I thought you said last night. go get this checked out, like yesterday.
Not to be harsh, but don’t be an idiot. Go to the doctor now. Do not wait.
