So I am planning to make my own invitations. I will be ordering all the card stock I need in the next two weeks or so. Our invitations will have an ivory lace ribbon which I ordered at the beginning of February.
the company I ordered from gave me a tracking number and I was waiting for the shipment and tried to track it but the shipping company stated that they never got the package and only received shipping information and notification that package was going to be shipped.
I contacted the company that sold me the lace ribbon and notified them of a missing package. After few days and their inability to obtain location of the package and shipping company stating that its been lost, they have resent my order at their cost. With the new tracking number provided all is now in order and I can see that this package is coming.
guess what I received in my mail box today? The missing package.
i told my Maid/Matron of Honor that I will contact the company and let them know what occurred and she immediately asked me if I am crazy. It’s only about 40$ that I spent but will have double my order which I could still use but I really don’t feel right not paying for it.
what would you do?

Contact the company! Since you received the missing package, taking items you did not pay for is stealing.

@Jacqui90: that’s exactly what I said lol

@Lulume: Contact the company. I know it feels different since it’s a company and not a person, but you’re still taking money from someone.

@Lulume: contact the company. They will appreciate your honesty and you will feel better about it. Not to mention it could affect someone’s paycheck 🙂

I would be honest and contact them.

@Lulume: This happened to me! I ordered some stuff for making my bridal jewelry and the company ended up sending me an extra order. When I contacted them, it wasn’t worth the hassle/money for the company to reship/restock the items, so just let me keep it free of charge.

Contact the company. Most likely, it’s not worth the shipping cost for them to have you send it back, and they’ll tell you to keep it anyway. Either way though, it’s the right thing to do.

Contact them. Odds are they’ll let you keep it free of charge because of the confusion. It’s not worth it for them to pay for shipping/administration and it would be kind of silly to have you pay it. It’s a win-win: you get double the stuff & a clear conscience.

Call them! They’ll probably tell you to keep it, but it’s better to clear your conscience.

I’m really happy that there are so many honest bees out there 🙂 glad I’m not crazy lol

@Lulume: This happened to me with a Christmas present. I called them up to explain the error and get free shipping to send the extra package back…
…And realized later they credited my account with a “return.”
I gave up figuring, heck, I tried!
