It depends! Some Bees hear within a couple of days, and for some it takes months! Pengy personallly looks through all the applications, so there is no set formula or timeline.
I think I recently read on Pengy's formspring that she typically reviews applications every couple of weeks, so sometimes it might take a couple weeks for you to hear something. Good luck!
I applied twice and I never got a rejection notice.

Pengy tries to get to them every 3 weeks or so. Here's her formspring answer:
"I do most application evaluations on the weekends, every few weeks. So if someone emails me and asks me the status of their application and it's only been two weeks since they applied, there is a chance I might not have even looked at it. You can email me if you like, (email is always fun) but you haven't heard back, it's because I was probably out trying to have a life that one weekend, and will resume being a shut-in blog hermit the subsequent weekend."
I know I'm trying my best to bother the hermit this weekend, so it might be a little bit longer before you hear back ;)
Both times I was...errr..not accepted...I heard back in about 3 weeks =)
I can't wait to find out... I know it's probably a rejection, but I still want to know!

When I was rejected, it was about 3-4 weeks, and when I was accepted it was almost exactly 2.
I applied to hostess and heard back a couple of weeks later that she had received my application. She said it might take a long time to hear back officially because she reviews so many of your posts...total time might be a month now?
@sarahsd - I think they're referring to applying to become a Bee?

aww, I'm sorry Miss Cake. I applied and was rejected, too. It's OK! Keep blogging and try again in a month, if it is really something you want!
@miss cake - yes! definitely try again. i know it's hard to (been there!) but if you want to do it, just keep trying =)
Sorry MissCake! I think It's coming for me too, so don't feel bad... I've just wanted to be a Bee since I got on this site! I think you should try again, tweak your posts and do it!!!
@Miss Cake: seems like a lot of bees were rejected the first time around. hope you do reapply! as we say here in japan "ganbatte!" (try your best!). i think i might've applied too soon so if (when, really) i do get rejected i'll probably wait until a little closer to the date to reapply.
@krissycake: we're actually just planning from japan. been living in 新宿 for almost 3 years, we're moving to america in october and we'll be having the ceremony in my parent's backyard in l.a.! but we are taking our e-pics next month in time for ã•ãら season :D
I've been waiting almost 5 weeks. I think I my app may have gotten lost in the shuffle. As per the support board I'm waiting til the 5 week mark to email Penguin directly. I can't tell if its a good or bad sign....
It was right about 2-3 weeks before I got rejected. = ) I kinda knew before the e-mail I would be, though.
Now I'm hoping to be a hostess. That would fit me a lot better since I'm here all day. I've just been more quiet lately.
