I have a dilemma, I have tried on numerous dresses (over 50 I’m sure) and I LOVE this dress that I found online by entering all the keywords I was looking for in a dress (organza, sweetheart, pickups, applique, assymetrical, etc.) I have been obsessing over it and want to try it on so badly before I order it but NO ONE has it! I am ready to just order it because I know I will love it, I have tried and loved two other dresses from the same designer (Mori Lee) which are very similar, and this dress has everything I’ve wanted. Am I crazy to just get it?

I bought my dream dress without trying it on but after trying on similar dresses by the same designer. My dress arrived and was more amazing than I had expected. If, when you try on the similar dresses, all you can think is “I wish it was more like my dress (in style, not in fit)” then get it.

I bought my wedding dress without trying it on. However, I tried on silhouettes to make sure that it looked good on my body type.

I personlly would not because every time I tried on a dream dress it was not a dream dress once it was on me. I’ve been married twice and went on numerous shopping trips both times and found that pictures mean nothing. The most perfect dress in essentials could look horrible on me. But, other women have done it and have been happy. I’d personally only consider it if I had the time and money to get another dress if I didn’t like it.
Have you asked a salon if they will order the sample? Sometimes, you can pay a fee (a few hundred) to have the sample ordered and if you the order the dress, that cost is applied to your dress. If not, you lose that money.

I wouldn’t! All the dresses I thought were my dream dress weren’t when I put them on. Some looked good and just weren’t “it” others looked awful. Dresses look way different in person than online, too. I would do it if you could return it, but it’s not that easy with a wedding dress!

I think you can and should. Maybe. If you have tried on dresses of the same sillouette from the SAME designer and they fit/look good, then go for it. If not, than no.

Have you asked stores when they will get it? I was obsessed with a particular dress, and a lot of stores said they would get it eventually. You have nine months, so I wouldn’t worry yet. Also, some stores may be getting it in a trunk show. Or, they can request the dress from the designer. I would work a little harder on finding it in a store for a few more months before you order it.
(Also, with literally EVERY SINGLE dress that I was in love with based on the pictures, I ended up not liking it in person. So it seems really scary to buy one without trying it on.)
At the very least, try to find a similar dress made with the same material by that designer. Knowing exactly what the material is can help you decide if you’re going to like it.

Since you’ve tried on similar styles from the designer, I say go for it!

I think you should do it! I ordered my dress without trying a single wedding dress on and it turned out great! I got my dress and love it even more!

Hmm, these are some good words of advice, I’ll show you all the dresses I have tried on which are similar from Mori Lee:
And this is a dress from a different designer that I tried and thought would look very similar. Given that I have tried these similar dresses, doesnt it seem like the one I feel like “has it all” is a combination of these dresses? Thank you for your help and advice! 😉
