I say go for it. You only get married once and she would love it.
DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The photos, the laughs, her surprised face, worth EVERY penny!!!
OMG so do it, it sounds like its something she will love and your guests would get a kick out of it!!
i have to say, as a huge cher fan, if my FH did this for me I. Would. Die. it would be one of my best moments of my life. TOTALLY DO IT!!!
you will get soooooooooooooo many hubby points you have NO idea lol.
(too bad you're in Canada or you and I mighta needed to have a little business chat lol)
Totally do it!
I wouldn't count it as part of the budget, but more as a gift. How far away is your wedding? Would it be possible to save up a couple 100 a month and afford it?

LOL!!! i know, right? The look on her face, and seeing her sing I've Got You Babe with Cher would be worth it, haha!!
@ohmybears48: I like your idea of not thinking about it being part of the budget, but a gift to her. And yes, I've recently got a contract position (paid) so I'll be making more money than I thought I would be up until the wedding.
I think I'm gonna do it!! I mean, come on, who wouldn't want Cher at their wedding? :)
OMG I was so confused, I skimmed the post and thought it was the REAL cher for 500 dollars. I was like, "wow that's cheap!." LOL.
I think that sounds like a really cute idea, if you can swing it.
@delirium.megans: LOL!! too funny. oh yeah, we go way back. ;)

ok, so quick recap of me...
planning a budget wedding, every dollar counts, want it unique, beautiful and memorable without going into debt, so far so good...
BUT, I work for a talent booking agency and discovered we rep a really good Cher impersonator. My gf LOVES Cher. I think it's cute. She would FLIP (in a totally good way) if suddenly Cher showed up at our wedding and sang a few songs, chatted up the guests and took some photos, etc.
Got the quote today, $500 plus HST. (tax here in CAN.)
Does this mean I have to give up something else to afford her? or do I just suck it up and pay the extra to totally surprise and wow my fiancee on our wedding day??
Have you / would you do anything totally unexpected for your sweetie, despite the extra expense?
