I am, and I haven't decided yet. I want to play around with the lash bar at Sephora. :p
I had fake eyelashes on the day of the wedding to enhance my eyes. I got a lot of compliments on it and many people didn't even notice that I was wearing them. I'm not quite sure what brand I used exactly since I had a makeup artist do them for me.
Just make sure that you get Duo eyelash glue. It's the best and lasts the longest and doesn't rip your eyelashes off when you take your false eyelashes off. I think that Sally Beauty Supply has an array of false lashes with a booklet that details which lashes are best for you.
I LOVE fake eyelashes! I actually used the little tiny clusters all through high school (yeah, I was that girl. I didn't wear a ton of makeup but man I loved my eyelashes) and no one could ever tell, so now when we look at pictures my eyelashes look amazing. Use them!
I would definitely like to look into this, but I think I'd let to get them done "professionally" cause I wouldn't know where to begin, and I'm getting my makeup done anyways.
I'm not sure yet. If I hire a makeup artist, I probably will, but i don't trust myself to apply them correctly on my own!
You could even do eyelash extensions. They look really natural and fantastic. I just remembered those guys!
I'm totally about using fake eyelashes!!! I use it all the time when I go out, I just use the kind you buy at a drug store. I use it one night and throw it out!
Right now I'm actually using "rapidlash" one of those put on before bed and grow in 12 weeks (Latisse without the prescription). I'm only in the first week, so I'll let you know! But if it doesn't work, I'm heading to Walgreens..haha!
I actually wear fake eyelashes every day. My natural eyelashes are hopeless- no plumping mascara helps! If I didn't wear them on my wedding day no one would recongnize me. lol
The brand I use is Quo, but they're only available in Canada. They are the best lashes ever-- when I move to the US my mom is going to send me pairs in the mail lol.
My suggestion is to get a more expensive pair. Stay away from the Ardell lashes found EVERYWHERE... those always annoy my eyes. They feel really fake & the little line that holds the lashes together always pokes the inside of my eye. Also, I second Duo lash glue. And make sure you get the CLEAR adhesive! Dark is just messy & looks off.
I am asian and fake eyelashes look good on me. I don't trust myself but for a big night out, I head over to MAC and have them do it for me. That and winged liquid eyeliner. Oh yeah!
I want to!!! I saw tons of tutorial teaching how to put them on youtube, but I need to actually get them to get to practice ( I need to go to MAC), I guess it all depends on how natural I can get them to look :)
I want to...too! But, just as Poodle and other's have stated I'm afraid of them not looking natural. I'm not sure if I'm having a makeup artist, but if I don't it seems more unlikely because I don't trust myself :-)
Thanks ladies!
I think I'm going to, but I'll have someone else apply them for me. I'll probably get some and do them myself for the rehearsal dinner as a sort of practice run.
I haven't worn a pair since high school. I used to dance and always wore them for performances, but that's definitely not a 12 hour day.
Most of the makeup artisits include these with their price and I am definitely either wearing the false lashes or getting the eyelash extensions.
I had a makeup artist put on my fake eyelashes on the day of the wedding. I'm glad I did because it's a lot harder than you think. I've been trying to practice wearing them following the wedding, but it's very time-consuming if you're not used to doing it. There are times when it gets angled wrong and I have to start over again or have areas where the glue has dried and part of my eyelash dangles...haha.
Definitely have a professional do it on the day of your wedding. Trust me, it is well worth it and you won't regret it.
I didn't do it, but looking back, I think I could have and it would have looked great. I have pretty long lashes naturally and they did look just fine with curling and mascara, but I think false lashes would have been a cool touch.
I actually played around with a couple of kits and it's not as hard as I thought it would be to apply them yourself. However, if you have a makeup artist, you might want her/him to do it.
I thought about using them, but when i sat down with the makeup artist she said it made brides look too weird. She said most brides want to look really natural and not have all that around their eyes.
I did! Individual ones, which looked really natural on me -- but they were the "Shorties" length (hehe).
I selected "Absolutely Not" although I am OK with false lashes. I didn't wear any for my wedding but if I would have purchased them I would have gone with false lashes. I have nice and long lashes so I got away with not having them.
This is how I looked with the fake lashes during the makeup trial. It doesn't hurt to try them on before the day of the wedding to see if they're right for you.
I've done it before and I love the look. I've done the individual ones because they look more natural but its only for special occasions because it does feel uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. And sometimes they don't come off so easily and they take a few of your real lashes off. But really the look is great! I've done the strip of lashes too and that might work better cuz you can just take 'em off when you can't stand it anymore lol.
I had to do it because I'm Asian and had no eyelashes either. It really helped to make my eyes pop!
Yes, yes, and yes from this bride. I loved my fake lashes. Since I was a 2-day bride I actually have photos of with:
and without:
I felt it made a big difference (like I do everytime I were falsies) and wouldn't have had it any other way. Oh, and mine that day weren't individua lashes but I've had those in the past and if I would have had my choice that's what I would have went wth.
PS... if you're on the fence there are plenty of different options of lashes (longer, shorter, fuller, not as full) and your makeup artist can always trim them to just cover a certain part (like right at the corner).
I love my fake lashes. I even practice wearing them now that I'm married. They make me feel feminine and beautiful and really help to make a difference in making my eyes look bigger.
i went back and forth about this, and ultimately the morning of the wedding, decided not to go with fake lashes because I didn't feel prepared to apply them myself and i had a good friend (who hasn't put on fake lashes before iether) do my makeup.
Depending on your eyelashes, some expensive mascara may work just as well.
I did because I have very straight and short eyelashes. Mine looked TOTALLY natural. A friend did them for me (one of my BMs is a broadway performer and makeup artst- jackpot!). She used drugstore brand, the ones that alternate between short and long. Just make sure they get measured to your eyelid so there is no overhang and they push them far enough down against your natural lash line. I had no issues with glue ripping my eyelashes, and they are irritating jusr for about 20 mins then you dont notice them.
I didn't wear a lot of makeup at my wedding, and I didn't have it professionally done (I did it myself), but I did bite the bullet and wear falsh eyelashes, and I'm SO glad I did! I compared Sephora brand an Makeup Forever, and the Sephora lashes worked best for me (they were more natural looking). I bought the kit with little clumps of lashes, so I could better control the look. I wore lashes on the outer 1/3 of my eye for some extra oomph. Then I used Clinique waterproof mascara to blend the lashes together.
Though I was nervous about how they looked on me up-close in person, they really brought out and defined my eyes in my photos! And at the end of the night, when some of my other makeup was wearing off, the eyelashes didn't budge, so I still looked put-together and felt fabulous.
Two tips:
1. I tested mine at my bachelorette party, because I wanted to see how they'd hold up after a long night of dancing (which they did)!
2. I had a friend (who works at a salon) apply my lashes for my b-party and my wedding. She wasn't an eyelash pro, but I trusted her steady hands more than my wobbly ones.
(Had posted, don't know where the post went)
I am definitely in favor of fake eyelashes, I felt they made a huge difference. Below is the closest shot I have of my eyes, and I think they look great:

If you have the option, I'd recommend the individual lashes. I've used those in the past (not the day of the wedding though) and really loved how natural they looked.
Didn't one of the bees do a blog about lash extensions?? I might do it!!
I say if your lashes aren't particularly long or thick on their own, go with the fake lashes. I'm an actress, so I wear then all the time when I'm onstage- whatever looks best on YOU go for it!

Are you using false eyelashes for the big day, or not? If you are, is there a particular brand that you recommend?
I'm toying around with the idea. I like the way it looks (usually), but I'm mildly irritated by the way it feels. I'm very interested if anyone has a brand of eyelash they swear by?
