What kind of self-tanner do you have? The ones I have actually stain your skin, so it's not like it's sitting on top and could run. Once it dries, it's not going anywhere. I can shower and it doesn't come off, it just fades off gradually.
@Carolyn72: I would go pale, not because tanners aren't good, but I just don't find skin that looks sun damaged nice.
Pale is the new tan! Rock your pale skin.
I am going to the use the versa tanning. But they recommend doing it 2-3 days before the wedding bc it's faded a bit, you've showered a couple times and it's more natural. It will not smear/run on your dress if you get it done a couple days before. They said the first 6 hours it can be a little messy.
I am super duper pale and on level one it seems to work for me.
Oh my gosh.I am still debating this myself!!!
@MademoiselleL: What kind do u use?
@JandieMames: Have u had experience with this versa tanning? What exactly kind of tanning is this??
http://www.versaspa.com/theexperience.aspx
This is a link to the website. It sprays and then dries you off. It's fast and I just did it today around 7 hours ago. I look tan but not over the top. I didn't use the bronzer part of it bc I am too pale.
This is what I am going to do just a couple of days before
I use L'Oreal Sublime Bronze tinted self-tanning lotion in medium. It's a mouthful, but I like it! I'm normally really pale too.
All of my friends use this one - it came reccommended to me and it's only $13 :)
If you've never used tanner, don't do it 6 days before your wedding. Why chance uneven application, looking orange, etc. If you're pale and always have been (which I'm assuming is the case) why change it now? You'll look amazing just the way you are.
My only problem is Im am a whitey. lol And I am in the sun for various reasons and because of that my face and my lower arms up to past my elbows are tanned. When I tried on the dress I bought, its a strapeless. So its a major tan line!!! It looks bad!! And I cannot stay out of the sun and using sunscreen everyday is excessive. So the only choice is to use some kind of tanner. To even it out some. And since Im pale I will not use the really dark tanning. I wouldnt look good if I was really dark. It would look REALLY fake.
@JandieMames: Please let me know how it works out for u. Are u at all concern about it getting on your dress? Let me know.
I did Mystic Tan for my wedding. I did one 6 weeks before to see how it looked, one 10 days before, and one 2 days before. It looked great against my white dress! It did rub off on the inside of my dress. I didn't notice nor did anyone else. It didn't show in any pictures. TOtally worth it to me!
ETA I don't tan either- I burn! I am super pale and I wanted a white dress, so some color on my skin was necessary! It looked great on me. Not orange at all (I didn't use the bronzer)
Ok so today is day two with the versa tan. I didn't get any on my clothes yesterday but today when I showered I saw some go down the drain. Today I still have not gotten any on my clothes. My mom saw me and asked when I had a chance to lay out!! I said it was fake and she was shocked. I am going to see what it looks like in the next two days.
I just feel like if you give it a couple days it will look really nice.
@JandieMames: Thats good. Im gonna do a couple practice runs. Since I am really white, no bronzer right?? Bronzer is just too much right??
@Carolyn72: I was super hot and sweaty the whole day of my wedding but my airbrush tan stayed - I think you will be fine!
@earlybride, I am pale, so much so pale people call me pale :) So I opted for the no bronzer bc the lady at the place said the only thing the bronzer does is give you instant color. I was too scared of the gradual color I was going to get in 7 hours. So I am glad I didn't get it, and within 5-6 hours I was a nice tan color.
I say use a tanner - you'll feel better! The tanner shouldn't smear on your dress if you shower the next day. You will be fine. Clarins makes some of the best tanners, but if you want darker, then I would get sprayed. Tan towels are also great, but those you have to be careful with your wrists. I usually use a base tanner before I do the towels. And if I'm feeling like it, a spray on top of that! Ha
Rock your natural tone! Embrace your pale - if that's your natural color, I'm sure you look beautiful that way :) I'm a pale redhead, and I can say from experience that pale people usually look weird when they try to tan.
If you haven't decided on this yet.... I use the versa about 3 times a month and it works great. I'm pale as well and have very pink undertones, so I recommend doing the Level 1, No Bronzer. Wait 8 hours to shower, then after you do it doesn't run at all. I would only recommend doing this once and don't let them talk you into doing the Level 2 (I turned strangely orangey-tan) but the Level 1 is great.

I have been back and forth with this subject so many times I feel nauseous.
I have found a really great fake tanner. I am as pale as a ghost and am getting married on the beach. I don't want to look like Casper, but if it's hot, which it is going to be, I am afraid this will run and ruin my dress and/or I will just not look like myself. I have rosacea and cannot tan in the sun or bed. I just don't know if I should go with my natural pale skin or with some tanner. I need some advice here bees, I only have 6 days left!
