I would like your opinions ladies.
My fiance works for a construction company where he is a superintendant. He has a foreman who is getting married next weekend. My fiance hardly knows this guy, but the foreman keeps saying that we should come to the wedding. I do not know this guy, or his future wife. My fiance has never met the future wife. We have also not gotten a formal invite. I told my fiance, I do not want to go, and I think hif future wife would think it was wierd if we showed up. But my fiance says that he feels weird saying no, when this guy keeps insisting we come.
What would you bees do?

I would decline. Unless it’s someone I have a relationship with outside of work, I consider co-worker invitations to be courtesy invitations, doubly so when the invitee is the boss.
The insistence is weird, though.

I don’t think I would go if I didn’t actually receive an invitation and the people didn’t mean anything to me or my SO.

Since you never got a formal invite I’d decline. Have your FI just tell him you have prior plans.

Aw, I would want to go. I love weddings, and since it’s a worker I would go, even if I didn’t know him that well. It seems like your FI has made a lasting impression on this man, and that’s why he is asking him to go. No you didn’t get a formal invitation… but I can think of at least 3 people that I see around work, or just when I go shopping or golfing that I would REALLY like to invite to my wedding. Why? Because they are super nice and we have one of those lasting relationships where we pick back up every time we see each other. So I would go, but that’s just me.

If my hubby wanted to go I would go as his date. The decision would be his.
