Our groomsmen are the extreme athletic type, they all are playing either football, or baseball in Cal state colleges, or training to become a firefighter.

they are also very laid back and down to earth and would be uncomfortable in tuxes or suits and knowing them I think they would look silly in either one. Of course they really would look handsome, but I want them to feel like themselves and comfortable.

So we've decided to have them wear dark charcoal grey jeans, with a very light blue button down shirt and a dark grey vest to match the jeans. With toms for shoes. to have bouteniers or not? : wedding boutonneirs casual groomsmen attire Groomsmen10to have bouteniers or not? : wedding boutonneirs casual groomsmen attire Toms

I can't decide if I want to have them wear boutonnieres or not. is this attire too casual to have boutonniers?

I would say it's totally up to you! Either way I think they will look nice, I had a hard time deciding on boutonnieres too because the flowers we're having would look silly on the groomsmen. But I think you know your wedding best but have you asked your FH what he thinks about it? Love the idea of dark jeans though! Unique!!

I think you could do it, just make sure it isn't a super formal looking flower/boutonniere.  What sort of boutonniere were you thinking of having?

Yea its up to you, but i dont really think the flower ones go with the casual theme. Maybe a nonfloral alternative will work.  My groomsmen are wearing tuxes but my FI hates boutonnieres and im just not a flower person so we are just doing silk pocket squares.

I agree that flowers will probably look silly. If my FH wants them maybe I'll make some cute ones out of felt and buttons or something. Thanks for your input!
