Right now it doesn't really matter since I don't have to get up. But when I do, probably after 9?
I don't expect anyone to call after 9, but I'm ok up til 10 I suppose.
Growing up in my parents' house, we weren't allowed to have phone calls after 9, 9:30 when we were in high school. It always drove me crazy, but now I understand! Maybe that is why it bugs me so much...?
I don't like talking on the phone.. i often forget about it in my purse, to be honest. Even if i did get a call at 11pm, i wouldn't notice til 9 the next morning. Call my hubby in an emergency.
I don't have children and my cell phone is always on vibrate. People are welcome to call whenever they want, but should not necessarily expect me to answer.
After 10 my phone is on mute. Call all you like - I'll be asleep.
Whatever time you need me, call!
We're usually in bed by 9:30 or so (5:30 a.m. comes early!) so anytime after 9 is too late for me, except in certain cases (like if I've been trying to get a hold of someone, particularly my family). If I'm asleep already there's no way I'll answer, though, and I'm usually somewhat annoyed at being woken up by the phone :-P. Same thing for texts.
wow, people go to bed early!!! if i'm asleep by 1 i'm in a good spot to get up for my classes in the morning. maybe it's just a college thing, but I do try my best to not call anyone else after 10. as for me, call whenever you want!
The question in my house is when is too early in the morning to call? Answer- before noon! Don't call us before noon or we won't answer, plus it ticks us off! haha
Growing up we always had no phone calls during dinner, 6-7 and no calls after 11pm. I will stick to something similar with my kids.
My vote is 10:30, because chances are I'm about to go to bed (since I try to wake up crazy early for the stupid gym). But it kinda depends on who it is calling. If a friend or family member in a different time zone calls after that time, no biggie. But anyone else, they get ignored. I've had those strange businesses call me at like 8:30 and I wanted to tweak on them.
@breezer: Yeah, being a college kid really messes with your sense of time. When I first started working, I was like 'why do I have to be here so early?'
Anytime after 9 p.m.! My mom calls all the time at like 9:30, and I'm usually brushing my teeth and getting settled into bed. She has more flexible hours at work and doesn't need to go to bed early every night. She usually calls just to chat, so I sometimes ignore the 9:30 p.m. calls if I'm really tired.
I'm up at till 2 most nights lol so late callers don't bother me, But as for early callers? I wan't to shoot them! Like Ablet said anything before noon is TOO early!
I'm with @ablet. the question for us is when is too early. On the weekends people know not to call before noon and if they do I get very irritated and don't pick up.
I don't have a problem with people calling as late as they need to. Most people know not to call for a general chat late at night so if they are calling late, there must be a good reason.
I only have a cell and it's only ever on vibrate, so I don't usually care when someone calls BUT if I had a landline or had my cell set to a regular ring I've be annoyed if someone called after 10pm since we usually head to bed around 9:30ish
It depends really, I don't so much care if people call, but if you want me to actually answer probably call before 9:30. I hate it how people expect you to always answer your phone whatever, whenever. Um...no...I am not playing that game. A lot of time I "forget" my phone in my bag on vibrate once I come home.
I suppose it's different if you have young kids who might get woken up by the phone ringing. I wouldn't call someone with kids after 9 but for a single or childless person, I'd say ten is usually the norm?
I usually dont call anyone after 9 but anyone can call me anytime they like. I leave my phone all night because I am slightly OCD and have this thing in my head that there might be an emergency in the middle of the night. My BF turns his phone off so if someone needs him, they call me.
If I had a landline I would be pissed past 9. I'm with @twalila. I will go a day without remembering my cell. :)
I silence my cell between 9:30-10. I get up early to workout and was tired of friends texting at 2 am and making my heart race! (I am officially a grandma :P)
Growing up and still, we don't call after 9, and I don't call anyone in the morning before 9 usually, especially on a weekend. :P
I can't hear my phone from the bedroom anyway (we only have cell phones and I tend to leave mine in my purse or on the kitchen table) but it still annoys me to go downstairs in the morning and find that someone has called me after 9. I don't go to bed until 10 or later, but I just feel like 9 and after is MY time! I'm winding down and getting ready for bed... as a pp said, 5:30 AM comes EARLY!
I never silence mine unless I forget to turn it back on after a movie or something like that, I'm one of those terrified there's going to be an emergency peeps. I say call whenever if I'm asleep it's just a cell phone and in the other room and usually I don't hear it anyway (it's just psychologically I feel better knowing someone can call in an emergency if needed - I know this makes no sense). But I'm definitely don't call before 9:30 in the morning sometimes 10. I don't have kids but I do a heck of a lot of babysitting for friends and none of them have kids that the phone ringing would actually wake the kids up. One of my friends the ringer isn't extremely loud so there's that and the other I'm always amazed that the kids don't wake up when the phone rings because it's crazy loud.
I am going to say after 10 if it is a non-emergency. If it is an emergency then "rules" don't apply.
I can turn my cell phone on vibrate or silent so anytime is fine...I might just not answer.
I'm pretty much ok with anytime. my dad is the Fire Chief back home. It's a volunteer dept. in a small town so the fire calls are actually called in on the telephone. I'm used to the phone continuously ringing (that's the signal...a no-break ring) at all hours of the night. So no time is too late for me.

This is really random, but how late is to late to get a phone call for you?
Last night, my FI and I were in bed, and my phone rang at like 10:30! I was so pissed! That is way to late for someone to call me! Once my son goes to bed, we follow, so normally like 9:30 or 10:00. Anything after 9:30 is too late to call us! (Unless it is an emergency or urgent)
What about you?
