I think that rather than have it wrapped for the shower... You should have a family member use it the day of the shower, and if you want to share that your brother gave you such a lovely gift... then go ahead and share! But having it wrapped as a shower gift... doesn't really fit. You can tell your brother how much you appreciate it in other ways.
I don't think I would have it wrapped to open at your shower.
First of all, it is a WEDDING gift, not a shower gift - so it does come off as strange (if I was there I would be like alriiiiight ... didn't know we were supposed to bring wedding gifts to the shower).
I don't think you need to show how generous your brother is to anyone, what gifts you get is between you and the gift giver!
I think it is showing it off if you open it at the shower. You could do what Missbliss suggested and have your mother or grandmother use it to take pictures of you opening gifts at the shower but I still wouldn't make a big point about where the camera came from.
Just use it at the shower. There really isn't any point in opening it at that time, especially if you already know what it is.
I agree with the others that it makes more sense to use it at the shower - then you can explain to guests that it was a gift from your brother.
I think that what the others are suggesting would be your best bet! Have them use it and then say "Yes, it is great! My brother got it for us for the wedding" or something.
Good point....I don't want to be show-offy at all and I am pretty uncomfortable w/ opening up gifts in front of everyone anywasy. However, I know my mother will suggest waiting to open it at the shower so I wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!

My younger brother has been very generous to gift us w/ a fabulous ($$) camera as a wedding gift. He will be purchasing the gift w/ my FI and we will have the camera next month. My bridal shower is mid-July and I want to know if it is appropriate to have the camera wrapped and open it up at my shower for my guests to see. It won't be a surprise to my mother, grandmother, or myself but I wanted to show my guests what an awesome brother I have.
Questions is.....is this appropriate? Will it seem like I am showing off? I just want to show my appreciation.
