I am having trouble deciding if we should have a photo montage during the reception. My mother thinks it would be a great personalized touch, however I am worries guests would get bored or lose attention. Any thoughts?

I don’t like the idea, personally.

I have never been a fan of slideshows, ever. We didn’t have one.

I’ve seen weddings where the couple put up photos and people could peruse them at their leisure. I preferred this myself as it allowed me to spend as much or as little time looking at the photographs as I wanted.

We didn’t have one, but if you do keep to one song. Anything more than a couple of minutes gets old.

It might be fun to have a digital photo frame on the table where the hors d’oeuvres or favors are. That way people can look at the photos at their leisure rather than being forced into it.

I went to a wedding that had a photo slideshow that was off in a room that played on a continuous loop throughout the night. That was *really* nice because you weren’t forced to look at pictures but you could if you wanted to, and I did so I enjoyed it.
I was actually just thinking it might be nice to have a digital photo frame that has a slideshow going set up on a table somewhere, maybe next to the guest book or the present table.
Thanks for helping me have an idea! LOL

@peachacid: love this idea!
i went to a wedding where they decorated with pictures of friends, family, significant moments in the couple’s life, in dozens of silver frames places all around the reception. it really got people out of their seats, mingling, sharing stories of the couple.
i went to another wedding winpth a slideshow but you couldnt see or hear it from our table, so it was kiod of a low point.
