I am quite engaged and am planning a surpirse wedding for a guests disguised as a cocktail reception who all believe we are eloping days following the party. So....no engagement pictures here and while I come across so many that I like, I just dont know that they are for us. Still plenty of time to chang emy mind though ;)

We did. It was part of our package and it was a great way for us to become more comfortable with our photographer. And it's nice to have some non-bridal pictures of us together.

I did! It was just a quickie session with a co-worker on whim one day. We plan on using them for invites and one was used for the xmas cards this year. = )

We did e-pics, I was unsure that we would find them useful, but even just the process of doing them and reviewing the product was a great learning experience. We really know what angles are best, what we need to work on (ie FH always leans right in for the kiss and I stay stationary - it would look better if we both leaned in, I tend to clasp his hand in mine, where just laying my hands on top would have been better, FH tends to raise one eyebrow when facing the camera, so to neutralize the brows LOL). Plus we did end up with nice pics to have in the house and to send to people - we will have wedding pics, but I think photo displays look better with a variety of pics (ie not just wedding pics).

Very Cute pics Barista, i love the playful ones!

Ms. Mini thats actually a great feedback....I did not think of that. I can only think of the hassle of trying to convince Mr M. then the figuring out what to wear!

I didn't think I'd want to do them, but we wanted to give our photographer a test run.  We ended up loving her and got some really great, goofy pictures of us that I know we'll treasure forever!

We did and I loved them. Having them done was a blast, and seeing the final results was ridiculously rewarding. It helps getting more comfy in front of the camera, as well.

We did, and I'm really glad.  The engagement session came with our wedding photography package.  We used our favorite picture for our STDs, and our families ordered their favorite ones to frame, which was nice for them too.  I'd really like to get our favorite one enlarged and framed... it's nice to have some informal professional pictures of us.

I also used mine for save the date magnets, and I also framed some of the black and white ones and used it for decoration on my empty walls

thanks! I like those ones the best, too! It got us used to being in front of a camera. For us it was pretty akward at first.

I originally wasn't going to do e-pics, either. I changed my mind because they were essentially included in our "package" (traded 1 hour of reception coverage for an e-pic session), the photog does this cool thing where he prints the e-pics onto postcards for the guests to take home from the reception that have a link to our wedding photos on them, and because I wanted to get a feel of what it was like working with this photographer so we could see what we needed to "improve" for the wedding pictures.

Plus, since my fiance hates taking pictures and we have literally one set of pictures of us from a photobooth printout, I decided it would be nice to have some updated ones :)

    Hmmmmmm....contemplating....

We would def want it somewhere untraditional and different. I just might change my mind and Mr M's if the photog includes it.

We did! But our session was free (photog student we found on Craigslist offered).... in the current state that we're in, I don't think we would have done it if we had to pay

We got ours done and we had a great time!  It was actually included in our package!  And like all the other bees stated, it was a learning process!  I know that the Fi and I have taken a lot of pictures together but, it helped us also get comfortable with our photographer in preparation for the BIG DAY!

What you could do is an after wedding shoot!  My photogs offer that too, but we chose to do a pre wedding shoot!

We got engagement pics  - they were included with our Photog package - and i am SOOOO glad we did!  As other posters have said, it's really nice to have some great pics of you and your husband that AREN't wedding pics!   Plus, we used ours in our "Sign In Matte" at our wedding and we used them in our Card Box (it was a picture frame cardbox).  I love them and I'm so happy we have them.  Here is one of my faves:

Even though engagement pictures were included with our package we didn't do them.  We immediately felt at ease and comfortable with our photographer and my sister had happened to snap a handful of really cute pictures of the two of us earlier that year so we just used them.
