I posted on here about having dress regret a few days ago about dress regret but today I went back to the bridal store and found a dress that I absolutely love! I can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day next year! Anyway, here is a pic of me in the dress:
I am wondering if I should leave it strapless or attempt to put straps on it? know it will cost a bit to order extra material (if I can even do that) and add lace sleeves/straps on it. I am a little bit insecure about my armpit “fat” as I like to call, that I can’t ever seem to get rid of. But the dress is so gorgeous by itself that I don’t want to ruin it by adding things! Any advice? And also, what type of jewelry would you wear with a dress like this?

Is this the Davids Bridal Melissa Sweet? You look great in it!! Its very classic and romantic. Personally, I like without sleeves, and don’t think you need to cover anything! Can you try on some clip on sleeves in the store? It might help you decide.

adding my sleeve to my dress got rid of my dress regret.
i think this dress would look pretty with flowy caps
I saw something on pinterest- an excersize to target that area of your arm for the big day.

@FoolsintheRain: Yes it is part of DB’s Melissa Sweet line…I still can’t believe I spent that much on a wedding gown! LOL thanks! The dress I have on in the pic is about a size too small for me. So I am sure it will look better once I get the dress. Too bad I have to wait 21 weeks!! I tried on the straps they had but I didn’t like how it looked with the dress. Maybe I should just work on toning up my arms! LOL It’s such a gorgeous dress that I wouldn’t want to ruin it or take away from it with adding modifications.

I, personally, prefer sleeves over strapless almost all the time. But I think you look great as is, so it’s really just a personal preference.

I am never in favour of adding sleeves to a strapless dress. I love sleeves if the dress is originally designed that way. I think adding sleeves to a dress that is intended to be strapless only brings MORE attention to the area that you want to cover up. For me, it’s obvious when a dress has been altered to have sleeves, which I personally think cheapens it. Plus, your body looks beautiful in that dress, without straps!

Beautiful as is! What a lovely gown!
How about a bolero so you can go sleeves and no sleeves when you want?

SLEEVES. Your upper body looks naked. I hardly ever like sleeveless dresses though. I really don’t understand why they’re so popular.
I think you would look better with a nice cap sleeve.

Thank you ladies! I am torn about what to do. I think cap sleeves would be nice but I have no idea how much it would cost and if it is even possible to get more material from the designer. Maybe I could just use some sort of bolero as was suggested or tone up! LOL 🙂 And I would tend to agree that unless it came with detachable sleeves, it probably is meant to stay as is.

I vote no sleeves! I’m partial to sleeveless gowns though. It’s hard for me to imagine what it will look like with sleeves, but if you would be more comfortable I say go for it! I’m sure it will be a stunning gown either way 🙂 A bolero could be a great idea if you want to mix it up and have the option to go back to strapless if you them tone up the way you want.

I definitely vote sleeves. But not because you’re “fat.” I just think a cap sleeve (or whatever sleeve design you prefer) would look elegant and lovely and I can really visualize the top with that added detail. I would definitely go for it.

You look great. No way should you add sleeves.
