FI and I have both been married before. Neither had big elaborate weddings or showers. What are your thoughts?
I still do not want to have a shower but just register so that our guests can buy a gift from a registry if they want to.

@ashleed: I most definitely think that you should register, especially if you need things for your home together. Maybe not as many gifts on there as you would if you were having a shower though. It’ll give guests options.

If you are not having a wedding shower I wouldn’t bother to register. I have found at least in our area that most peple give cash for wedding gifts.

I think you should register. People want to buy you stuff. It’s just the way it is. Even if you don’t have a shower, people are going to ask you where you are registered.

Just to add…..we live in a small southern town where the local places to register list their registries in the newspaper.

I would!!! Your past doesn’t matter.. You’ll be starting a new life with your husband and like you said people love to give gifts – esp to showers. If needed only register for upgraded items or new things you’ve never had. If you can use new sheets, towels, knives or plates I’d do it!
