Sell it when you are ready. Otherwise I guarantee it will sit taking up closet space for 20 years or more and eventually you will donate it to a thrift shop because it is out of style.
Not many brides wear their mother's gowns anymore.
i am definitely going to sell mine. i need to make back whatever money i can and i simply will have no use for it after. sure i will be sad to see it go. but whats the point of it collecting dust?
plus i have a cat and only bad things can come of that if i leave the closet door open by accident one day.....!
@sctigergirl81: I was just thinking about this last night!!!!!! Thanks for the great question.
I can not wait to see what other bee's say.
I am going to sell mine, definately. I have no sentimental feelings about it, it's just some stuff i need to look like a pretty bride. There are other things that are more important to me, little things like our cake topper and my shoes. I do understand that many brides don't want to sell their dresses, but to me it just doesn't make sense to keep it somwhere in the closet and have a look at it maybe once a year. That's what you have your wedding photos for, you can always look at them to remember your dress, or you could get either a mini dress replica or one of these cute drawings:

thank you so much for the feedback everyone! i'm just trying to be practical, but i guess at the same time i'm worried that when I tell people they'll be like "you sold your dress!?" and then i'll regret it.
but so far i love the opinions here, and my best friend - who is the most sentimental friend, told me to go for it...so i feel a little better now =)
if selling it doesn't feel quite right, consider donating it! there are several reputable organizations that take dress donations and re-sell them / donate the funds to medical research, etc.
another option is to have it sewn into a baptism/christening outfit (if you're into that sort of thing) for your kid(s).
I will probably sell mine. Definitely, if it's ridiculously expensive. I won't need it again, so I might as well get some of the cash back.
I will try to sell mine. I know there's sentimental value and all that but you will still be able to look at pictures and see how it looked on that day! I mean, what would you do with it if you kept it? probably nothing, it would just sit in the cloest and turn yellow with age.
thanks for the support, yall! I think all of you made me feel at peace about selling =)

So I'm seriously debating selling my beautiful wedding dress. The sentimental side of me says, NO! you married the love of your life on the best day ever in this dress!!
but another side the logical side says...ugh i could really use this for bills, and debt and such. I mean, I'll never wear it again, I'm sure someone else could benefit from a discounted very gently used dress...
ugh. what to do.
any other bees out there consindering this, or have already done this? anyone regret it?
