I'd never heard of those guys before. Nor do I think I even know what they look like. :(
Sounds like there will be a lovely view. That sounds like all the decoration you need.
Eh. You don't need them and no one will miss them if you don't have them.
They're nice but I don't think you need them either. I think its cool to do if you just have some extra time and money (I don't know who has that but I'm sure someone out there does). I don't really remember being at a wedding when the couple used them... and I've been to a lot of weddings.
I would actually prefer the look without them. Are you corraling cattle? The majority of your guests, I would assume, are adults. I'm sure they can keep order amongst themselves. And if they were to be just for decoration, I would do something like flowers on the end chairs or nothing at all. No one will notice.
i like it better without them better. i think the ceremony is supposed to be simple decorations, so you can focus on what's important.
I'd say you're fine without them - you, FI and the oceanview are all they need! :)
I vote no. Unless you did decide to decorate them.
I just really however don't envision them as wedding-ey.
I wouldn't miss them - seen as thats the first I have seen of them!
I would miss them, I actually think they stick out more. A simple aisle is good, you dont need the stanchions.
I agree. I wouldn't miss them and also think they look a bit dated.
I don't think you need them...to me it looks like road blocks.
I think it would look a bit better without them...a little more personal...closer to your guests...not separated from them.
Good call - they definitely look dated and it will look soo much nicer without them!
Definitely a good idea to ixnay the stanchions (never knew thats what they were called lol) They remind me of the ropes at the doors of most downtown clubs :)
I'm the same way though- say free & I'll take it!!
Yeah, definitely don't do them. I think it will look great without them.

Does anyone care about these things? I have 200 people and about 8 of these aisle poles, also known as stanchions. I don't want to spend money decorating them.... what do you think? I was thinking of telling the hotel, I don't need 'em. I just figured, hey, they're free. But do I REALLY need them. Do you notice them if they are missing? It's an oceanfront window ceremony room.
