So I've decided to just stick with my dress after all my dress regret that I had, eventhough it's not exactly what I wanted in a wedding gown. I still have a little, but I'm also a little more excited to see it in person when it comes in. It comes in in August. I am debating on making it a sweetheart neckline or not. I am very petite up top (34 A/B) so I don't have much to work with to give me a little cleavage like I would love to have instead of a 'straight chest' look like a 12 year old :(. Unfortunately I was not blessed in this department :(. I was thinking maybe a sweetheart neckline would give me a little something. It's what I orginally wanted in a dress, but as you see...it's not one :(. So should I get it sweethearted?

Also, I have been looking all over for bustiers and no luck. Where are you getting your undergarments from? I am in need of a good push up one that will not make seam lines in my dress, but also gives me a bit more something up top. I need the really low back ones because my dress is low in the back.

Thanks bees for all your help!

Sorry about the weird face...they caught a pic at the wrong time lol

It looks to me like it already has a soft sweetheart, so I like it as is. I think the softness of the neckline really goes well with the overall look of the dress. But if you like a full sweetheart, I'm sure it will look gorgeous!

The neckline is already a bit dipped so I would leave it as it is, I got my long line bra from Sears by apostrophe it was about $25, and has a super low dipped back... it is just the most awesome bra out there.. I tried on expensive ones from davids bridal and they all didnt fit me right

Well, you definitely don't look like a 12 year old boy. It's not straight across, as your description made me think. I really think it's beautiful the way it is.

Maybe try looking for the push up bras? Or get the clear gel inserts and put in there and then see how you feel about it, if you don't feel "feminine" enough.

Good Luck and keep us updated:) :)

From the pics, it looks like your dress (which is beautiful on you!) already has a slight sweetheart, so I wouldn't change it any more.  Have you considered just having cups sewn into your dress and not wearing a bustier/bra at all?  I've also heard good things about NuBra but haven't tried it (I hear it's best for A/B cups, which I'm not).  Also, remember there's always the concern with your NuBra/bustier/bra cups showing up in pics, so if I were you I'd try to just get cups sewn in to your dress.

I'm in the same boat.  A few years ago I was a bridesmaid and had the dress tailor sew padded cups into my dress AND I wore a bra.  I was very happy with the results and plan to do the same for my weding gown.

I think the dress is lovely just the way it is.  I'm worried that if you create a sweetheart neckline that it will not look right.  You can always ask your seamstress to sew cups with some padding into your dress.  That way it will give you that little bit extra without you having to worry about finding the perfect pushup bra.

I love the dress! It is sooo gorgeous! I think you made a great choice and it looks perfect the way that it is. You will make yourself sick if you keep second guessing your choice. I know this because I have been making myself sick thinking that I made the wrong choice. Yet, looking at the pictures I think you made a great choice and you look beautiful!

i LOVE LOVE your dress! wow! i dont think you need a sweeatheart. its look fantastic and to get some cleavage, you probably just need some push up cups, thats what i did (i am also 34-B).

I think with all that beading it could be VERY expensive, and you may lose the beautiful look of the neckline.

I think you look so great, and you may just not see it now. I would invest in good undergarments like others have suggested.

I have a larger chest, but after having kids they dont defy gravity anymore, so I bought a fantastic underbust authentic corset, which moves them up, then a good push up to shape them. I am not sure if that would help you out, but it made all the difference to me. (one issue though is if your not used to them, and dont have time to work them in and tighten you may have about 1/4 inch extra around your body.)

another idea is depending on the boning you can have more added along with the cups added.

It looks like the dress already has a little bit of a sweetheart so I'm sure it would be easy for them to define it a little further if that is what you wanted.  I think the dress looks BEAUTIFUL the way it is but you are the one that needs to be happy with it!  If you have your heart set on a sweetheart then go for it and don't let anyone else tell you that this "kinda" give the illusion of a what you want.

I think you look beautiful in that dress just the way it is so in my opinon, no modification needed on the neckline. It does have a slight dip in it already. I'm also the same cleavage size and probably will do the sewn in cups but not 100% sure since I haven't checked many options.

Your dress is beautiful just the way it is, NO need to sweetheart. As the other ladies have mentioned, it has a slight sweetheart already which gives you a very nice shape. Perfect! As far as undergarments sounds like sewn in cups may be the way to go. You look absolutely beautiful and very happy in the dress... NO more dress regrets for you!!

You look gorgeous as is. I would possible add sewn cups or gel ones, if I were you. I think you would lose that gorgeous beading if you changed it. Just a thought--could you tighten the corset around your waist? it looks a tad loose. maybe this would create a more busty illusion. ?

Thank you to all the helpful comments :). I just really want my fiance's jaw to drop when he sees me and I want to feel like a princess. I have decided to go buy one of my favorite push up bras from Fredrick's and get that sewn into my dress instead of having to worry about getting a good "push up" effect with something I've never tried. The dress comes in next month and I'm pretty nervous to try it on finally with a big petticoat I have in hopes it will give me the right effect I'm looking for.

@Sschaf: I think it can be tightened a little more. I have lost a few pounds too so it will be even loser on me. I am also wanting to get it taken in to make the corset lace up a bit wider and defined and that way I can tighten it as much as I need without worrying that the corset seems too narrow.

I wouldn't make it a sweetheart because you'd lose all that beautiful detailing at the top. As far as undergarments, you might want to wait until your first fitting. I bought a bustier that was more than I should have spent before my first fitting and it didn't even end up working because you could see it if you looked down at my chest.

I think that dress looks gorgeous on you! I love that it already has a soft sweetheart neckline. I would leave it the way it is and try it on with the bra you plan on having sewn into the dress.

@FloretteLiz: That's my plan :). I'm gonna go buy it next weekend, then when it comes in and if I don't like it then I will just have another regular undergarment :).

@blg529: I've started thinking that too :/. Plus I am gonna add lots of swarovski crystals in that area, on the side and on the appliques in the skirt. I won't have an actual "first fitting" until I move to California in 6-8 months :(. We are military so I had to buy the dress out here because by the time we move back to california it would have been too late for me to order a dress and I would have been too busy to do it too :/.

I think the soft sweetheart that the dress already has is gorgeous on you!

I had the same issue as you (needed something that wouldn't show, low back, etc) and got the "Back Off Baby Low Back Bustier" from Victorias Secret.

I love the dress the way it is! I'm also lacking in that area but I bought the victoria secret miraculous push up AND a non-padded bustier from macy's and it gave me the "fuller" look up top.

    @JJsGirl_09:The current neckline looks great.

On my dress, I had them lower the neckline from mostly straight across to about as dipped as yours is now. It's very flattering.

Th dress looks beautiful on you!!! I would change it to a sweetheart. Also, you can ask the seamstress to sew "cups" in which can give you a little oomph in that area (not that you need it) but might make you more confident.

Don't change it. It's perfect. It IS a sweetheart neckline...just softer. My dress has the same neckline, I always thought I wanted a more severe sweetheart, but nah. I think this dress gives you incredible shape as it is.

I like it just the way it is as welll... I actually asked my seamstress what i needed for under the dress and it actually really suprised me... her response was just a bra ... And not just a bra but on that is actual several sizes to small in the cups. That way the bra pushes up the boobs like a shelf and the dress actually keeps the shape... I have to say she was right and the girls are right where i want them and I dont feel like i cant breath or move freely. (i must add to that i'm a bigger girl size 18 on top and a 12 on the bottom :-)
