@lena_k_29:  the BEE HATED my dress, and I mean HATED.  When I posted the poll my dress got no love (now that’s it’s been posted as ‘the one’ tunes have changed – or haters just aren’t commenting).

I find that polls are more helpful in figuring out what YOU really want.  People hating on my dress made me that much more confident that it was the one!

@lena_k_29:  I went with the dress that I loved the most, without asking any of the bees. I did however post pics of my dress and all the others I tried on after the fact. It’s nice to see what everyone thinks, but I would never base my choice for my wedding gown on an anonymous internet poll.

I got a dress that wasn’t on my original poll, but was a very similar silhouette to the second most popular dress on my original poll (natural waist ballgown vs drop waist ballgown). The most popular dress on my original poll was too small for me to try on properly, but I got to try it on later and it wasn’t as flattering as I had imagined. I posted a second poll later asking the bees if I got the right dress and my dress won by a landslide.

Yup this is what I was going to say. I didn’t do a poll for mine, but often times I find that once I ask the opinion of others, it helps solidify what my own is. If everyone hates your dress, like bibbleskip said, and that makes you feel really emotional, defensive, etc, then yo may find that you love it and you don’t care what anyone says. If everyone loves a certain dress, you might find yourself saying “but… but, really? I like the other one!” which again, helps you determine what YOU think.

My poll was literally half and half.  Like 1-2% off.  One dress i loved in theory but not as much in practice (first), and the other wasn’t as much a “wow” dress but really fit me and my wedding vision well (second).  That’s the one I chose, and I loved wearing it!

why am I making this face? No idea.

@lena_k_29:  I posted 2 dresses on a poll and the fuller skirt won hands down. I lived it for the romantic feel and back but it was a bit heavy and I didn’t have that magical feeling even though I thought it was beautiful. I happened to find my DREAM dress a few nights later, jumped up and down, and bought it on the spot (no poll needed). The brighter white/ivory with full skirt and beaded sash is from poll and the champagne/ivory flowy one is the dress I purchased.

@MsGinkgo:  I had to go see that thread.  I def don’t hate it, the one everyone loved was my 3rd choice, your’s was my 2nd.  Are you gonna wear a belt or some sort of embelishment?  I think with a little somehting it’d look even better.

@lolot:  both of those are beautiful – I can see why people were torn! Obviously you made the right choice if you were happy 🙂

@Atalanta:  haven’t figured out how i’m embellishing it yet – I don’t like belts with it because of the fabric pattern – I’ll figure something out. (my chosen dress for reference)

@MsGinkgo:  re: how to embellish your dress without adding a belt.  You could have a seamstress sew on some crystals/pearls…. maybe along the sweetheart neckline?  That’s one option my seamstress gave me, anyways.

@shaina0707:  Can you please post the designer/name of each of these dresses?  If you remember!  I’m in love.
