I don't remember exacly when, but for me it was a little bit after my missed period. I remember being upset that I didn't have any symptoms and I just didn't feel pregnant, so the positive test was a big surprise for me.
The night before I tested, I felt nauseated after dinner. I didn't overeat too much, and it was a little weird. I knew I was late, but since we weren't off the pill for long, I figured it was just my body adjusting, since I was 1 day late the month before. Turns out, I was wrong - I was preggers. After that, I definitely felt nausea, but my breasts didn't grow or get sore until probably week 7. (I found out at 4 weeks).
My only symptom prior to my missed period was needing to pee much more frequently, which was only noticeable because I normally have enormous bladder capacity (TMI - sorry!). Morning sickness, heartburn, etc didn't really start for me until I was 6 or 7 weeks along.
Oh, and as for heartburn, you really don't feel that until much later. The main reason for that is because the baby is taking up more room and your stomach is smaller, thus pushing the food up.
Good luck!
About 5 days before my missed period. My boobs hurt like they have never hurt before!
I threw up three times on the day my period was due and took a test the next morning. A lot of women don't get morning sickness until a few weeks later, but I got it right away and still have it at 24 weeks. Other symptoms kicked in pretty quickly after that.
I "just knew" pretty much right after conception, but I got my first real symptoms about 2 weeks later. A week before I tested (I didn't test until about 6 weeks), I felt exhaustion and my first introduction into morning sickness. I didn't get any other symptoms (sore boobs, etc...) until later.
I got my first symptom about a week before my missed period--extreme breast tenderness. Usually my breasts are sore before I get my period, but this was it x10. I should have known, but I didn't test until the day after my period was due.
I'm not sure when my period was suppose to come, I have a wonky cycle and always have. I think my symptoms started at 3-4 weeks, I scheduled immediately after the positive test(s) and had to wait 2 weeks I believe. My boobs were incredibly sore, I was slightly nauseated and I couldn't stand the taste of my coffee, those together made me test.
My boobs got huge, I could not eat enough pretzels, and I just felt super bloated, but with a ball in my stomah (sounds werid, but it felt weird to do a sit up when I was like 2 weeks pregnant). I also just knew, though - like right away, I just had a feeling! But the biggest thing was my sudden pretzel eating.
i was extremely exhausted for about 4 days before my missed period - i slept 12 hours a night and it made no difference. plus my boobs were sore. i had a feeling i was pregnant and got a bfp the day before my missed period.
...that being said, there were at least two other months in the 7 months of us TTC when i just KNEW i was pregnant cause of all the symptoms. each time it was just pms. so of course it can be tricky....i say if you're curious, buy a multi-pack hpt and test sooner than later - you can always retest.
I'm currently towards the end of our TWW and I feel absolutely exhausted mostly in the afternoons. Been having some cramping a few days ago but nothing major. I definitely have an increased appetite as well as some occasional nausea but nothing too intense. I took a test this morning hoping and praying for a BFP but nothing yet. AF isn't do for another day or 2 so will test again towards the end of this week. On that note, I'm off to take a nap :) G'luck!
At about 7 or 8 weeks. When I tested, I just tested b/c my period was late and I always had a 12day lutenal phase. Before I tested, I could smell a LOT, which was weird, but I didn't think anything of it.
Both my mother and my sister swear that they were nauseous the day after they got pregnant with all their kids and saw hardly a sick free day for 9 months. Not something I'm hoping to imitate.
Oh I have also been having this crazy and nasty metallic taste in my mouth. Drives me nuts. I try and do anything and everything to get rid of it and the darn thing is still there. lol This may have no relations what so ever on symptoms but I have been having very vivid dreams the last couple days too, can remember even the smallest details.
My first real symptom wasn't until after my missed period. I was actually late and tested negative, and tested again 3 days later...another negative, and then I became frustrated and refused to test again, but my husband convinced me, so another 3 days later I tested my BFP. It wasn't until another couple weeks after that that I began to have sore breasts. I never experienced morning sickness, and just recently had my first bout of heartburn (at 25 weeks). Exhaustion did set in in the first trimester probably around 7-8 weeks for me.
i had major breat tenderness the first few weeks but at 5wks i started with the morning sickness that never went away the doctor always told me it would go away and it never did booo!
I thought for sure I was going to start my period...turns out pregnancy symptoms are very similar to AF symptoms. Slight cramping, sore boobs, slight bloat. Other symptoms didn't start til 5-6 weeks.
I've only JUST missed my period and gotten a positive (happy dance).
My normal PMS symptoms this past weekend felt a bit different, and I had some spotting (still do, but SOOO much lighter than when I spot before a period). My breasts are only starting to get tender, and I'm feeling nautious as of today, but, it could be nerves!
But, definitely pregnant, calling the doctor today to make an appointment to confirm.
I don't know if this was pregnancy related, but in mid/late Jan I had extremely greasy hair. I mean, like, 5 hours after I'd taken a shower it would look like I poured oil over it. I had read about some obscure link between hair greasiness and pregnancy (something to do with hormones, I guess) so I took a test and it was negative. I was actually pregnant when I took that test, but it didn't show up. I would have been about 4 weeks along then. Anyways, that went away in Feb.
For the next two weeks, I had extremely bad period cramps, all in my back (where I normally get them, I have never had stomach cramps). I kept expecting my period based on how bad the cramping was getting, but it never showed. Finally, 7 weeks after my last period, I woke up in the middle of the night to throw up. I don't blame morning sickness though- I think I ate some bad salmon. My husband was like, that's it, you're taking a test.
So, really, the only symptom I had that I know was due to pregnancy was the never ending period cramps, which went away around the second trimester and only occasionally pop up now.
I'm a little disappointed. I happened to find out I was pregnant while at the doctor for fibroids but that was 4 weeks ago and I still haven't felt any pregnancy symptoms. Come on morning sickness! LOL!
I found out I was pregnant yesterday - no symptoms at all so far. Hoping everything works out!
@weddingdiva - I am like you. I want some symptoms!
Don't worry. Most women don't feel symptoms right away. I thought I had made it through with none, thinking other women were wimps, them BAM! Snuck up on me and knocked me down.LOL
@MsMamaBear: Totally forgot about that one! My sense of smell is gone now though.
@weddingdiva-in-training and uniquename: Careful there!
My best girlfriend is pregnant right now. She wanted symptoms and her nausea is so bad that she can't get off the couch. She ended up in the ER and they gave her anti nausea meds and an IV. The meds aren't working. Today they gave her an IV to get her some nutrition (she threw up EVERYTHING) and hydrated (even water). They're hoping that relieves the symtoms, and if not they'll need to put her on steroids.

For those of us TTC, I know it's really easy to imagine pregnancy symptoms. "Oh, I have heartburn", "I'm peeing a lot", "my breasts feel tender". But ultimately, a lot of that turns out to just be in our heads once we find that our "monthly visitor" arrives anyways.
For those of you who are pregnant or have babies -- when did you legitimately start feeling pregnancy symptons? Was it actually before your missed period? Or did your major symptoms like morning sickness, peeing all the time, start up weeks after that? Just curious...
