What an amazing book! THANK YOU ALL WHO RECOMMENDED IT!
And guess what I learned so far????
WE ARE TRYING AT THE WRONG TIME!!! Yep…we feel so dumb. I had no idea that if my period came on day 47 (for example, it varies), that means the absolute earliest I ovulated was on day 31! Well, on day 31, I am already moaning about a late period, feeling crampy, bloated, emotional…and shooing the hubs away!!! Who knew I was only ovulating??
We have been strictly following the “every other day for days 10-18” rule. And I am charting my temperature, but getting fustrated on around day 18 that it never peaked…then quitting for the rest of the month! Um, oops.
To anyone trying…get this book, like now!

Love that book! So glad you were able to figure that out. Does that mean that…it’s not too late for this cycle yet? I saw you posted that you had started the TWW.

heathaah, another “tool” I’d recommend is something my good friend used after 4 years of infertility (We just saw her 1 month old Saturday!) She used this thing you put in your mouth, and it charts your cycle on your computer. Sorry I don’t really know much more, but she was actually able to determine that she wasn’t ovulating…and after going on clomid it helped her to conceive. It measures something in your saliva, and they really were impressed with the software.

i’m going to get it and a basal thermometer!

That’s awesome that you figured out how to improve your chances! Something you may want to consider is if you are temping or charting, do it online using something like http://www.fertilityfriend.com (it is free or you can pay for a few more features). It will actually show you (even on non-standard cycles once it gets to know you after a few months) when your typical ovulation period is. It takes some of the guess work out of it.

@ecoastrunner83: Yup! Still a chance! 🙂
@brittanymichelle: It’s easy to read, and very interesting. Totally worth getting!
@cannotwait: Let me know if you can get more info! Thanks!

Horay! Another TCOYF girl! I’m also a new convert (just two more weeks, and I can go off the pill! :)) and I can’t wait! We will be using FAM to avoid pregnancy until next year… but I’m hoping it will help us conceive within the first few tries when we are ready!
I’m so excited that you found this powerful new tool to help you! Hopefully in the next month or two… you’ll have a pregnancy annoucment to make! 🙂

Heathaah, I am so glad it has helped you learn more about your cycle! I got a lot out of it, even if parts of it were too “touchy feely” for me, I still recommend it to friends. Fingers crossed!!

Yeah! I love that book and preach about it to everyone who will listen (and even those who won’t…lol!). I’m so glad you found it useful too.

I second the book and second http://www.fertilityfriend.com. Worked for me!

Yea! I love that book and recommend it all the time. It was fascinating to learn so much that they don’t tell you when they pull the girls aside in 5th grade (if they still do that).

I LOVE this book too! I’m still reading it, but the info is just amazing! Totally would recommend it.
