@alysee:  yes, you need to get regular trims. Healthy hair grows faster and longer and looks better. Old damaged hair will just break off at the ends and won’t get any longer. I would keep up with trimming.

@alysee:  I’m working quite closely with my hairdresser to grow my hair,  i go in for regular colours and treatments,  and only get a trim if it needs one. So, probably have a trim every 3 months depending how my hair is. I’m being really careful with it to reduce the amount of trimming: no heat styling, frequent hair masks etc

If you don’t trim it then it becomes unhealthy looking and can cause splits and breakage. Get a tryin every few months and be very candid with your stylist and show them how much you want cut off.

Definitely trims; especially if you plan on having it down. As the ends get older they become dry and split, and the splits travel further up the shaft of the hair the longer you leave them. Frequent trims help preserve overall length, and make styling it easier in the long run. The extra inch or two of length you might get by not trimming between now and October would be balanced out by the fact that that extra length would likely be in rough shape, and not look nice down no matter how carefully styled.

@alysee:  Definitely trim it. You’ll want your hair to look as healthy as possible if you’re wearing it down.

Mine was at the bottom of my boobs and I just got it trimmed to just above my boobs. It feels so much healthier and usually when I get it cut it grows back faster right after anyway. OP how long is your hair now?

I am so over due for a trim and color.  Winter has been so mean to my hair!  I’m going next week!

Trimming keeps your locks healthy and ready for wedding day style!  Trim every 8-12 weeks, (according to my stylist)  I will be wearing mine similar to yours.
