Hello, I will be wearing a small wreath of fresh flowers (jasmine with a few little purple accents) and was originally planning on borrowing my BFF’s veil. Now I am not sure if that will be headpiece overkill. I know I can decide day of, but still want an idea! FYI I won’t really know what the wreath looks like until I get it, but I know it will be delicate.

Cordellia: I’m in the same boat as you (and still haven’t decided!), but I did a google image search for ‘wedding veil floral crown’ and came up with lots of images. One that I totally fell in love with happens to be from an older WeddingBee thread about this same thing. Here’s the link to the thread because it has tons of amazing pics to show ways to do both. I’d also love to see what you come up with!

I don’t think it’s overkill, I think it can look amazing with the right veil/crown combinaiton. What style of veil is it? Drop veils look nice with crowns.
drop veil over delicate crown:
drop veil under delicate crown:
regular veil tucked under crown:
Also depends on what your dress looks like. Veil + crown is rather statement-making so I think it works best with a simpler dress.

Also worth noting, in pretty much all the inspiriation photos I’ve seen for this look, they aren’t wearing earings, necklaces and a bunch of other accessories. That’s probably for good reason. Statement jewelery woudl definitely kick it into overkill territory.

I love the look if done right! I didn’t wear a veil with my floral crown because… hmm I dunno, I just didn’t want to wear a veil. But some of the inspiration pictures here are beautiful. I agree with PP that you should wear minimal jewelry so it’s not overkill.
