I personally am pro veil! I think the orchid will be beautiful, but I just love a nice veil. (=

My bridal consultant said “You only get to wear a veil once!”

Try it all together, you look beautiful already in your dress…! See how you feel in it, I have a Single red rose clip, and a veil for my hair. So I am also pro veil!

An orchid would be lovely.  I’d consider a waltz length veil, that would be long but not trail behind you like a full chapel length veil would so you wouldn’t get sand on it.

are you having a reception afterwards (dinner or cocktail hour? if not, photos afterwards?

if you have a veil thats not incorporated into the hairdo but carefully pinned on…then maybe you could wear the veil for the ceremony on the beach, and swap it out for the flower later at the reception/dinner/drinks – and get pictures with both looks! it must be possible as ive seen some brides take off veils reception (particularly true if its a long cathedral type veil) without messing up their hair

@newname_99:  THIS is what I am doing for my wedding, I am going to have a mantiall veil and then swap it out for a cute hairpeice inbetween picture time after the ceremony (so I get both looks in pics).

@Miss TNK:  I think you would look fabuluos in a veil in that dress, but still get to do your own thing during the reception 🙂 In the end, its your day though. Do what makes you feel best!

I’m in the ‘do what you want’ camp.  DO NOT wear a veil just because you are the bride, and DO NOT wear one because you only get to wear a veil once (which is not really true, I have first communion pics to prove it!) Wear it because YOU want to wear one.

I say wear both the veil and orchid, I did! I took my veil off halfway through pictures after the ceremony, it bugged me whenever anyone hugged me, it kept pulling my hair.  I didn’t want a veil at first but was persuaded to try them and ended up loving it. Now I wouldn’t have spent a lot of money on one since it wasn’t that important to me.  My veil ended up being under $20 because it was on clearance and the floor sample.

In my opinion, def go with what YOU want! But i will say, i originally did not want a veil…i had tried some on and it just wasnt me…but i took another bee’s advice, and tried some more on, in different positions in my hair, and found one that i loved set low or under my hair do…i originally had it placed all wrong and too high on my head and thats why i didnt like it. now, i am happy i decided to go with one. i feel like it brings the whole “bride” look together for me. but like i said, go w/ what YOU want! you will be gorgeous w/ our w/out a veil 🙂
