This is a unique situation, why not just come up with something? She can tell an ancedote about something humorous that your FI has done and then just say, " I know that X makes my mom happy, and that is all that my siblings and I could ask for. Please join me in welcoming him to the family."
*I moved this thread to encore, which deals with second weddings..there are lots of bees flying about here which might be able to lend some valuable help and advice!
I'll also think on this one too...

Does anyone have any ideas or links for samples of toasts for children to welcome their parent's new spouse to the family?
My 15-year-old daughter will be doing a toast on behalf of herself and her siblings to welcome her new step-father to the family. She of course want it to be short and sweet, but humourous as well.
Any ideas?
