So, I am not really stressing about this, but trying to find a way to make the toasts as pleasant (or least boring) as possible for everyone. We just yesterday found out that my fiance’s dad would like to offer a toast after all. He had expressed no interest before. It’s fine, it’s just a bit of a practical question.
1. Should my dad (or parents together) make a toast, too?
2. His dad’s toast would be in German. My parents’ would be in Turkish. How would you go about translating? We have quite a number guests who only speak English, as well.
3. Would you be peeved if the bride and the groom asked you to be a translator with only 10 days’ notice?
4. How could we encourage our parents to keep their toasts short and sweet? If we do translations, then we have to multiply however long they take with three.
