About a month ago I posted that DH and I rescued a special needs (blind) hedgehog. I am happy to report that he is doing well. He has lost a couple ounces since learning to play on his wheel. It also seems that he may be regaining some vision in his right eye. He has shown some sensitivity to light and better perception. When he can to us he used to ball up and not let us touch him. Although we can’t really handle him too much, he is allowing us to pick him up and hold him. Here are some new pics of him! Sorry for the huge pics.

I had hedgehogs when I was a kid! Loved them munching and smacking on mealworms!
I’m glad to hear he’s doing well!!

So cute, I did not know that you could have hedgehogs as pets. Where do you get one? Do you need a permit? He is so adorable!

@jbridea: You need a permit from the NJ Fish and Wildlife office. It’s $10 a year. Both of our boys are from a breeder in Clinton, NJ.
