    Hey there!!

DH and I are trying to eat healthier, and I thought that tofu might be an additional source of protein. Today I was explaining that I made a nice spicy tofu sandwich for a healthy lunch to a fitness guru in our office. He said that Tofu is not good/healthy for men.

Well, I am looking for a "second opinon" what are your views on tofu and health benfits for men and women.

    Thanks Bees!

Tofu has soy in it and it can increase your estrogen levels. But from what I know, you have to eat a TON of it for it to have an adverse effect on you. I think it's delicious when you cook it right. You can also blend the super soft kind into a smoothie!

I've never thought soy was all that is was cracked up to be.  All in moderation.

J's super fitness cousin (a professional Ironman triathlete) doesn't eat tofu, or other soy products, for the reason @ejs4y8: mentioned.  I think that's a little over the top.  I think the stuff is delicious and J likes it as well.  Maybe just don't have it for every meal.  ;-)

There is a lot of controversy around non-fermented soy and not just for men.  At the end of the day I would eat it in moderation.
