I am seriously considering having my bridal party wear Toms at my wedding. So far, my girls LOVE the idea (MOH even going as far as to say "I'll be upset if we DON'T wear Toms now" haha).

What do you all think of the idea? All of our dresses are long so they won't exactly stand out. I love that Toms donates a pair of shoes for every pair bought. I don't exactly think Toms are "pretty" per se but I do think they are very comfortable.

Here are some photos to help you visualize.

I voted yes but only because the dresses are so long that you won't see anyone's shoes anyways, so why not go for comfort?

@thanlon_88:  we are either going to do these... or flats! Haha. Comfort all the way. Personally, I hate heels... and my girls feel the same way :).

I love this! You could even get some fun lifted dress/shoe shots on the big day of you and your ladies. If you do, please share. Those are always some of the most fun photos.

Also, I'm a big fan of comfort all the way. Even at 5 ft, I'll be rocking an awesome pair of plaid converse under my dress. Who needs heels when you have chucks :)

    YES! I love Toms!

I purchased those purple ones this past Monday for my wedding shoes!

Have you seen that Toms has flats now as well? You could look at those if you wanted!

These could be your dancing shoes! I would definately wear these over heels for the dancefloor (especially if nobody will know unless you tell them!)

Perhaps you all should wear heels for the ceremony and wear Toms for the reception. =)

@AubByAub:  Awesome! The same purple ones!? I haven't seen them in person (which may be why I'm skeptical). Let me know what you think of them!

Thanks for the comments and advice everyone!

If the dresses were shorter I'd say no, but since they're long and no one would see them it would be ok.

@csperry2:  yep the same ones! I don't have them yet, but I have a pair of the black glitter ones and they're really nice. I'll take some pictures when I get them, or well, I'll have my sister take some since they're being sent to her house. They will be my 4th pair of Toms (I'm just addicted, none of them are even close to worn out yet, and I wear Toms all the time, except at work) and all my other pairs are true to the color portrayed.

I think one of my of my girls are wearing Toms. They are wearing long dresses too and having the long dresses, nobody is going to see the Toms as much. So if you change your mind it's not going to be a big deal. The bridesmaids will be comfortable as well. Which will mean less complaining from them!

My friend did the Toms for the bridal party, but with short dresses, and I personally didnt like it. But she just chose plain Toms. I think with the long dresses and the sparkley ones, it would look great! And I've been thinking about ordering those purple ones just cause. I love them so much!

I knew a couple who did this at their wedding. However, the bridesmaids had short dresses. I actually didn't think they looked so bad on the bridesmaids, but the groosman had bright blue ones on that really stood out against their suits, and I didn't think they looked so great. But if your bridesmaids feet aren't going to be showing anyways I like it! plus they will be comfy for everyone to wear throughout the night. If you are also having the groomsman wear them I would just say coordinate so they look nice with their suits/tuxes. Overall the idea is great since you are donating to charity.

I LOVE Toms. They are comfy, and I also love that you're doing a good thing by buying a pair :). I wanted to do this with my bridal party as well, but they weren't all team players....

I wore sparkly Chuck Taylors my entire wedding day (there's quite a few photos in my recap posts if you feel like hunting!). I'm 5'10 and my husband is 6'1 so we didn't really want me towering over him. I figured if I'm wearing the long dress and going to be on my feet for like 8 hours, then dammit I'm going to be comfortable! :)

My cousin was a bridesmaid and she wore the silver sparkly Toms. No one could really tell under the long dress and she was totally comfortable all day. This is a terrible pic my uncle took, but the only one we have with her actually showing them off:Toms for the bridal party!? : wedding 166912 716312073145 44400167 34663832 738379078 N

Yes it would be JUST the bridesmaids... NOT the groomsmen!

I'm so lucky to have such cooperative bridesmaids! I've had to BEG them for their opinions at times... they almost always start with "whatever you want!" Haha.

I have almost 100% decided that at LEAST the bridesmaids are going to wear the Toms. We are going to order their dresses this Sunday. I'm going to buy them for my MOH/sister so that we can take them with us and see what they look like.

Thank you all SO much for your input!

@csperry2:  random, but my mom wore your BM dresses as her MOB dress for our wedding! it's such a gorgeous dress. I say go with silver ones as the purple TOMS will be too much.

First, I love TOMS... they are so comfy...

I had to vote no.  I just think everyone wearing TOMS/Chucks will look back at their wedding day thinking why did we wear tennis shoes???  It's a formal event and you'll look back in a few years when they're out of style thinking WTH was I thinking...

    Just my thoughts...

Yes!! I love Toms. They're super comfortable, great for many occasions (so they can easily be warn after the wedding) and support a great cause. I've been planning for awhile to have my bridal party (as well as my groom and I) wear them and can't wait to see your pics of your party in them!

I want everyone in my party to be comfortable, that's top of my list so Toms just make sense. I think my maids will probably get the sparkly ones (yes, even though they'll be in tea-length Infinity Wrap dresses) and the GMs will probably be in the classic canvas. Our wedding won't be super formal so the casualness of Toms doesnt bother me at all.

Anyways, that's just my two cents. I can't wait to see your pics and good for you for supporting the One For One cause! :)

I think if you want them to wear Toms then you should buy them. I would not wear Toms again if I was in a wedding and I would not want to purchase them for  a wedding.

I would have done this except my BM are all in short dresses and I dont like the way they look with short dresses and my FI is a foot taller then me, so I want to wear heels to be more at he level during the ceremony, but after our first dance off they will come, maybe I will get some toms to be my rehersal dinner shoes?!?

Do what you like. With long dresses, it really doesn't matter except for the pics and that's what the shoe choice is based on anyhow (comfort aside).
