I worked on Saturday night so SO and I had a date night on Sunday night instead. He made reservations at one of the nicest restaurants in town so I thought maybe tonight would be the night!! Boy was I wrong!
I decided to wear a satin little black dress with the jewelry he has given me over time. When he arrived to pick me up he was wearing a button down collared shirt and jeans. He said that he looked a the dress code and jeans were okay. I changed into a more casual dress and switched out my jewelry and shoes because (compared to him) I was overdressed. I was a little disappointed because I love an excuse to dress up and I really wanted to wear my black satin betsey johnson dress, but oh well.
We arrived at the restaurant- it is a french restaurant on the top floor of a tall building. There are floor to ceiling windows and there is a breathtaking view of downtown and the bay. Shortly after we were seated, we could see a fireworks show. I couldn’t help but think it would be a perfect time to pop the question but my SO wasn’t phased. I asked if he planned dinner to coincide with the fireworks and he said no, he had no idea. So it was a nice dinner, but it would have been a lovely proposal! Sigh…

What an amazing date! It stinks that you’re waiting, but try to appreciate your FI’s efforts anyhow.

I’m so sorry to hear that 🙁 I’m in a similar boat. My guy keeps taking me on trips (this year alone I’ve been to the Bahamas, Texas, California, I’m going to the Cedar Point roller coaster park with him this-coming weekend, and the weekend after that we’re going to West Virginia) and I get overly excited every time…

It’s definitely a bummer when things that should be incredible dates/time together get kind of ‘ruined’ by the anticipation/waiting game… I was like that too, I ended up being too caught up in not being proposed to instead of just enjoying my time with my guy.. I’m sure whenever it happens it will be perfect!
