I’m sure other people have been in this situation, and I’ve love to hear about it!
I’m 27, and I have a group of girlfriends from college that I’m still incredibly close with. We recently told each other that the three of us would definitely be each other’s bridesmaids at our weddings, and we’re all really excited.
The crazy thing is… I just realized… though none of us are engaged yet, we’re all in that “just before engagement” period… and if all goes according to plan in our relationships, all three of us will be getting married the same year!
That is going to be flipping crazy, right? I’ve only been in a wedding party once, and it was a ton of work/stress/fun. I can’t imagine being a bridesmaid for my two best friends AND planning my own wedding in the same year! Just the time committment is going to be INSANE. I mean, I’m excited I guess, but wow!
Did this happen to anyone else? You and all your besties got married around the same time? Tell me about it!!!!!!!

About 4 of my sorority sisters are getting married next year. I haven’t yet told them about our plans to definitely get married next fall, so that will be a shocker! Plus I have about 2 more on the verge of engagement so this will be so much fun and very interesting. Luckily we’ve all talked about bridal parties and have said it’s way too expensive to be in each others wedding so I think everyone is just going to have family and close friends in the bridal parties to save us some money to be able to attend the weddings.

- Wedding: September 2013 - Franklin Plaza
@laughs: Myself and my 3 best girlfriends will all getting married not far apart from each other. I’m getting married this September, the next is getting married is June 2013, and then October 2013. The fourth in our group is not engaged yet, but is very close to it. We all got engaged within a short amount of time.

Wow this sounds so much like my group of friends. I’m the first to get engaged and probably the first to be married of the group. But there are 2 others who are in serious relationships and will likely get engaged in the next year or so. It would not surprise me at all if they ended up marrying in the same year. At least by that time I’ll have planning experience from my own wedding to help them 🙂

- Wedding: June 2013 - Upstate NY
We had 6 weddings last year (I’m 29), 4 the year before, and 7 the year before. They do tend to come all at once- if you don’t want to go broke, sometimes you have to choose which ones to go to unfortunately. We missed my husband’s close friends’ wedding because he had a DW in Mexico and booked a hotel for $450 a night. Who does that? Very few people went.

@lealorali: yeah, i’m a little worried financially! Right now I’m saving up to buy my guy an engagement gift (probably a nice vacation) and all my “extra” money is going towards that. Once I’m a bridesmaids in two weddings at once it’s going to be difficult!

Me and two of my best friends were married within 13 months of each other. It really wasn’t a big deal though. Being a BM doesn’t really take much extra work and/or time commitment.
DH and I have 7 weddings we were invited 2 this year (2 of them are family weddings). We had to skip one of them though because the timing didn’t work out. We were both the greeters/guest book attendants in one, I was the MOH in one, and DH is a GM in a third. No big deal, IMO.

We have TONS of weddings next year, some family, some friends and some acquaintances. It’s one of the main reasons why we decided to have our wedding this year.

This is exactly what is happening to Me but I am so thrilled!! My sister (MOH) is getting married July 2014. My best friend (bridesmaid) is in the waiting stage right alongside me. And my last bridesmaid is engaged and planning a 2015 wedding. It only makes sense that 3 people who are so close to me are also experiencing the same wonderful things.

@laughs: Yes!! That is always how it seems to work…everyone gets married the same year! I am the last one in the group. Now, it seems like everyone is having babies the same year 😉

Haha STORY OF MY LIFE!
In 2010, we had 4 weddings.
In 2011 we had 6 (2 were even on the same day, but close enough that I could attend both).
In 2012 we had 5 weddings (including our own). In Sept. we got married. One month later my good friend/college roommate got married (I was in that wedding). One month after that another very close friend got married (I was also in that wedding).
This year, we have 4 weddings. 3 of the weddings are in the fall and are 2 weeks apart from each other (2 of my best friends from HS, and another college roommate). Then my cousin gets married in December.
We already have 3-4 weddings for 2014. My younger brother is getting married in the spring (I’m in his wedding). One of my other best friends from HS is getting married in June and so is one of H’s good friends (H is in this wedding). I think I have another friend getting married next spring/summer, but I don’t remember the date and I’m not 100% sure we’re invited.
Also, only 2 of these weddings were local (ie within 1.5 hours). Our own wedding was in another state.
It’s pretty much been mass wedding chaos for the past few years, but I love it!

- Wedding: October 2014 - Squaw Valley
We had a total of 9 this year! 7 last year & 3 next year (including our own YAY!!) I was a BM in 2 this year so far & FI was best man in one. Add to that only one this year is local! We’ve certainly been spending $$$$ on weddings. Hopefully it will slow down now.

My SO’s brother and cousin are getting married next year, and so are we. His brother got engaged last Christmas, his cousin got engaged YESTERDAY, and we are announcing our engagement this Christmas, though we already have a date set.
I feel like this is the start of a domino effect. 2014 could be a busy year for us!

@laughs: In the next 6 weeks, we will be attending 4 weddings, including our own. It’s just that time in life. (We are 25 and 27).
