My 12 year old sister was my Mom’s escort down the aisle, and she escorted my Godmother on the way back up!

She loved it!

I’m having girls in that age range serve as “Flag Bearers”  – holding one of those Here Comes the Bride flags that seem to be so popular on Pinterest, and so controversial on the Bee… haha

My 12 year old niece was a reader at my brother’s wedding (a BM in mine), but she has a flair for the dramatic and loved having everyone looking at her lol.

My FI and I are having this issue as well (except with his newphew who is too old to be a ring bearer)… We were thinking of incorporating him by having him pull out the aisle runner.

@SapphireBride2:  When I was that age I was a guestbook attendant, an “usher” (handing out programs) and/or a junior bridesmaid.

I had a similar thing with DH little cousins…. granted the girl wa sold enough to be a jr BM but I just didnt want it because I dont know her like that and we already had TOO many in the BP…..we had her to a reading and help the ushers hand out programs, the boy was our flag/sign bearer (the whole pinterest “here she comes_____”. You cold also have them walk someone in like your mom or grandmother.. have them wear something that “goes” with the colour scheme but not a BM or a FG dress???

Seconded the junior bridesmaid (I have one and she’ll be involved in getting ready in the morning and she has a dress in the same color that fits her)

Oftentimes girls 9-14 really enjoy being guest book attendants, greeters, and working the programs at weddings.

@SapphireBride2:  It’s your wedding they can be whatever you want.

My niece is my WORLD. She is 8 and will be my flower girl.

At first I thought she was too old to wear a tulle dress like a little girl, then I remembered that I’m 24 and my wedding dress is a big fluffy tulle dress!

Here’s what she will be wearing:

Junior Bridesmaid Tulle Dress with Lace Collar by chachalouise, $85.00

My daughter was 10 and she was a junior bridesmaid for her cousin’s wedding.
