Kayla is 3 months and 1 week old. She has what we lovingly refer to as a mullet…business in the front, party in the back. The top of her head is my hair (thin and blond), the back since she was born has been long and thick and darker like her dad’s. I get my haircut tomorrow and I just know if I asked my stylist she would trim some of the back pieces for me, but would that make me a bad mom? 🙂

No, I don’t think it makes you a bad mom for wanting to trim the long pieces. I can understand why you would.

nah not at all, trim it 🙂 ThatWife wrote a blog post about that. She buzzed her sons head for the same reasons when he was super little. Some people gave her a lot of flack, but truthfully, I dont see a big deal with it. Go for it. She wont want the mullet photos to haunt her later in life lol

I have heard that it affects how long it will take for the baby’s hair to grow, thats why most people wait until their child is a year old. her hair my grow to match it…

I would totally trim it if it looks bad…Her hair may not actively start to grow out for another 6 months and there’s no reason to be looking at it and thinking about it that long.

I didn’t mean to make it sound like it’s unattractive…we kinda like to joke about it and are always laughing at her crazy hair, I just wasn’t sure if there was such a thing as too early. My stylist trimmed the back of it up a little bit for me…she’s just as cute as ever 🙂 (Well, I think so but I may be biased!)
