I got married twice in 2010 (to the same guy!)–1st in a civil ceremony at the courthouse, then a couple months later in a church. I always wanted a destination wedding, but we didn’t end up having one. We are going on vacation later this year and soon after we are planning to start a family, so this is kind of like the last big vacay before kids. I kind of want to do a little ceremony on the beach, with just the two of us and someone administering vows. This time we’ll get to write our own and have a really personal and intimate ceremony. Our church wedding was about 200 ppl. We’d probably hire a local photog to take pics and then have dinner somewhere.
I’m sure hubby will be all for it so that isn’t really the issue. I guess I’m wondering if you think it’s odd, esp since we’ll only be married about a year at that point. I guess it isn’t really renewing vows…it’s more like having the wedding I always wanted 🙂 Well, if we did a desination wedding, I would’ve had a few more people there. Any thoughts?

Not for me, but if seal and heidi klum can get married every year i don’t see why you can’t 🙂

I see nothing wrong with it. It’s just going to be the 2 of you, so the only people that could be offended by it would be you and your hubby! BTW, I also got married 2x’s to the same wonderful man in 2010. 🙂 Same thing, civil then 6 months later a church/family ceremony. Ours was due to immigration. lol I think my husband would run away if I said I wanted a vow renewal this year! 😛

Haha thanks CorgiTales! A small wedding every year would be fun! Too bad we’re not millionaires 😛 This will probably be the last time for like 25 years. I just didn’t want to wait that long til I got my DW.

How does your hubby feel about it. I think it would be nice.

@dodgercpkl: Thanks! And congrats 2xs!

It wouldn’t be for me, but if you want to and he’s up for it, go for it!

I think it would be really nice!! I would love to renew our vows for 1,5,10 etc!

I don’t think there should be a set amount of time that you can renew your vows! Show your hubby how much you continue to love him, it’s sweet and can be very special for the two of you!

Thanks for all your feedback!
heather25, I haven’t actually talked to my hubby about it! Haha. I’m sure he’d be up for it and think it’s romantic. He’s kind of a private person–we have a big family so the holidays are always hectic, but each year he makes it a point to have “Our Christmas” where it’s just the two of us and we exchange gifts in private. Same with brithdays. So I think this would be right up his alley 🙂
