If you can cancel up until 14 days before your wedding with no issues than whats the harm? If you find someone better you can just switch.

I booked my MUA about a year out. I say go for it, especially if you have the option to cancel.

Either way, don’t wait too long! I put it off until April or May and had a panic moment when everyone in town seemed to be booked! No later than 6 months out for sure!

I agree with the other posters who’ve said do it now if you have found someone you like! My MUA was one of the first people I booked because I already knew I wanted her and didn’t want someone else to get her first! I’m glad I did, because she was at a big bridal show in my city last weekend and I’m sure she has tons of interest now. An added perk of doing it relatively early…she was about to raise her prices and booked me under the old ones! I say do it now and then you can forget about it and move on to other planning!

Edit to add – agh, just saw you already talked to her! Good decision 🙂

I went for my trial just over a year out.  I’m not getting a second trial, but they did take pics and I trust that they’ll do the same thing on the wedding day.  I don’t think it’s a big deal to book this far out.  You’re being pro-active!
