    I post on the boards fairly frequently and know some of my bridesmaids skim weddingbee, hence the psuedo-name.

    Anyway, I think I might be pregnant and I HAVE to tell someone (aside from my fiance). been on the pill for years (yaz) and haven't missed a dose. take it at the same time every night. I'm 5 days from starting the dummy pills, but have felt like crap for the last week and am pretty much convinced that I either have a very stubborn bug or am pregnant.

    Why do I think this? Well..there was the lovely random spotting I had for 2 days in the middle of my cycle while on the pill (may have been 3 days but I didn't pay attention) that I've NEVER had before, the nausea, the upset stomach, the fatigue, the abdominal cramping (moves from one side to the other, into the back, and all around), the general lower abdominal discomfort (it's not a UTI either), the headaches, and the mild heartburn (which I've also never ever experienced before). I took a test, and it came back negative, but I know I need to test again next week. It's really frustrating NOT to know or be able to find out at this point. I've had 2-3 "moments" in the past where I've taken a test, but never this many symptoms at the same time (usually I was just overly paranoid).

    My fiance told me to just chill and try not to think about it until we can get an accurate test result. But that's hard to do! How can I keep calm??? Googling "earliest pregnancy symptoms" is NOT helping...Laughing

    Deep breaths!  It's certainly possible but don't freak yourself out too badly yet.  I know the way my body reacted to the pill changed over time.  Even now that I'm not on hormonal BC my symptoms are still evolving.  I used to never spot and now it's pretty regular.  Same with heartburn though I don't think I can blame that one on PMS.  :-)

    Hang in there.  You'll be able to test (relatively) soon and be able to know for sure.  I don't remember how far out the early tests are reliable but you might want to look into them.

    Unfortunately, as many women TTC can tell you, you just have to wait. Taking a test early will just result in a false negative (if you are pregnant) and you will end up retesting anyway. Try to distract yourself (easier said than done, I know) and wait until you can test. If you really can't wait, maybe contact your dr and ask about getting a blood test, although this early I'm not sure what they'd tell you to do, come in or wait.

    Yeah, I actually did call my doctor this morning because I thought MAYBE it was a UTI (but it isn't). He said to take a test late next week, or come in for a blood test next Friday. Doesn't he understand that's a week away and I can't wait??

    Laughing

    He also knows I'm a wine drinker (he is too) and told me just to be safe, not to have a glass(or bottle..) of wine to calm myself down. THANKS DOCTOR!  (p.s. I know he's right, it was just kind of an amusing conversation considering my doctor knows I'm a wino and we chat about it).

    Girl just try not to worry about it! PAH! who am i kidding? of course you'll worry about it. but seriously, If your not late or havnt missed your period yet then DONT STRESS. 2 weeks ago me and FI had a "slip up" and i stressed about it bad and was 4 DAYS LATE. I think I was about to have a heart attack. Mainly because we already have a 14 month old right now! But I think i was late because of all the stressing i did. My last pregnancy i had no symptoms and it caught me from left field.. i think you may be overanalyzing lol its ok EVERYONE does it! good luck over the next week!

    If you take a urine test, get the ones that read digitally.  The ones with the lines don't seem to work as well.  Also, it seems one of the number one signs of early pregnancy is breast tenderness, as in when you take your bra off wowza that doesn't feel good breast tenderness.  You definitely wouldn't be having nausea yet, that doesn't start until about weeks 6-8, but I did have some minor cramping.

    @prettylittleflowers:

    Sorry I had to laugh about the wine comment LOL!!!  I hope that if it does turn out Positive that you and FI don't worry too much!  There's really not much you can do about it anyway!  Ya might as well enjoy it if it is what it is.  I know waiting is tough.  I got pregnant with an IUD with progesterone in it!!!  My daughter REALLY wanted to be here!  I felt stressed throughout my pregnancy because of money issues etc., and I missed out on the joy of it, so to speak.  If you're not trying I think no matter what, it takes a little bit of time to get "used to the idea" but I have a gorgeous, wonderful daughter that I would not trade the world for!!!  It will work out no matter what, yes or no, so don't stress!  (I know, easier said than done!!) If I could go back, I wouldn't sweat over it as much.  :)  (((Hugs)))
